  1. This is not the same team that the Raiders squeaked past in week 1 of distrist play. The new QB is playing lights out (QB rating 128) and the defense has only allowed 3 TD's in district play and 4 shut outs. Tatum will not play to near perfection like he played against Lumberton. He's going to get hit hard and often. Dayton by 21 or more. I hope PNG stays healthy for the playoffs. If it gets out-of-hand early i would rest my studs for Galena Park.
  2. I am going to be a nervous wreck during this game. Here's a little comparsion of the two teams. These stats are from DISTRICT games only so they are all common opponents. Offense: Rush Pass Att Yards Comp/Att Yards Total Yards Points For Lumberton (district) 223 1247 49/112 662 1909 161 Nederland (district) 144 475 97/185 1360 1835 150 L(avg/game) 37 208 5.6 avg 8/19 110 318 26.8 N(avg/game) 24 79 3.3 avg 16/31 227 306 25 Defense: Rush Pass Att Yards Allowed Att Yards Allowed Total AVG Allowed Pts Against Lumberton (district) 214 817 115 867 1684 101 Nederland (district) 235 1189 78 613 1802 148 L (avg/game) 36 136 3.8 avg 19 145 7.6/att 281 16.8 N (avg/game) 39 198 5.1 avg 13 102 7.8/att 300 24.7 These teams are pretty even but looks like Nederland is a little weaker against the run. Expect a big dose of #5, followed with #24 and #49. Then, #7 needs to do his thing in the air. Our D-backs have to stay disciplined. We can't give up the big play on halfback passes or flee-flicker type plays. Neuman always has a trick play or two up his sleeve. Our D-line needs to hit Bellows on EVERY play. If they can't get to him because of the quick pass then get the hands high and block a few. I predict the Raiders score between 28-38 and the bull pup's score between 14-24. "MAKIN' HISTORY"
  3. Thanks for the tip but i wasn't trying to list all the possible scenarios. GUARANTEE was a key word in that post. If Dayton, Lumberton or Nederland lose another they are NOT guaranteed to get in.
  4. mouths a little dry from all these dang feathers... Neither team gave this game away. 336 yards for lumberton and 367 for PNG! That's impressive against these two defenses. PNG made the plays. That's the most pressure our QB has had all year. I thought Bryce did a great job considering we couldn't get the rushing game going.
  5. The only record that matters is the one that counts towards determining the playoffs. PNG is sitting atop the hill and can still lose a game or two and get in. Lumberton, Dayton and Nederland need to win out to guarantee a playoff spot. Central is not out of it yet but needs a lot of help because of the losses to Nederland and Lumberton. A win by LCM, Vidor or Ozen could make things even more interesting. Isn't southeast texas football great? 8)
  6. Does anybody know what the tie breaker is for 22-4A? There could be either 2-3 teams 6-1 or 5-2 and i was wondering how they decide if each team is 1-1 against the teams they are tied with. This is just one of many scenarios that could take place. Hopefully we win out so it doesn't come to this. For example, if PNG runs the table and Nederland loses to Dayton but beats Lumberton then you have PNG 7-0 and Lumberton, Nederland and Dayton all 5-2. Lum would have a win against Dayton and loss to ned. Dayton would have a win against Ned but loss to Lumberton and Ned win against Lum but loss to dayton. How do they decide who goes?
  7. I didn't miss a play PPW. That's not whining dude, just stating the facts! Had the coaches not pointed it out the refs would have let the snap take place 3 yards ahead of the actual down marker. AND as i stated it didn't have an impact on the game. The injuns won that game. it wasn't handed to them by the refs and that's not what i said.
  8. I am still licking my wounds from the scalping we got but i guess i'll make a prediction. The Raiders will show that they are for real and rebound with a well executed game plan. Our D tackles better next week and we win pulling away 35-14. Every game is a must win now.
  9. Hemmings played well but the game ball should go to Tatum and his line. 13/15 189 is oustanding and both offensive and defensive lines played on our side of the ball all night. Congrats! The crow tastes like cheekin!
  10. Hats off to the Indians. They executed a near perfect game plan. Tatums 13/15 for 189 was oustanding and both the offensive and defensive lines for PNG won the battle. They made all the big plays and we missed way too many tackles. That was some good Texas high school football. Our defense made a stand late and gave us an opportunity. We had our shot at the end of the game but didn't get it done. Good job Raiders for playing all 48 minutes. The Raiders well get the L-train back on the tracks this week for the Ozen game. We just need to take care of business each week and we will be where we want to be at the end of week 10. This had no bearing on the game but i thought rather funny!!! : Being from the golden triangle i had always heard that officiating was biased in mid-county. They lived up to there reputation when they spotted the ball 2 yards ahead of the down marker on what was suppose to be 4th and 1. Tatum could have kneeled the ball and still got the first down based on where the refs had spotted it. That was classic!!!
  11. can't wait to re-visit this post after the game tonight. It will be another "i told you so!
  12. Just because the Raider fans are cocky doesn't mean the kids are. They are confident in their ability but not arrogant in thier success. Here is a good defensive comparison of stats from DISTRICT games ONLY. NO preason stats included. Lumberton has played Dayton, Vidor and Central and after the PNG game Ozen, LCM, and Ned. PNG has played Ozen, LCM, and Ned and after Lumberton game plays Central, Vidor and Dayton. No common opponents yet so take it for what its worth. Team Forced Fum/Recovered rush yards allowed Pass yards allowed Points allowed Lumberton 7/5 103 150 12 PNG 8/5 107 195 16 Now lets argue over who has played the best offensive teams. Just kidding! Let's tee it up! "TURN IT LOSE"
  13. The only place i have found that tracks anything defense related is texasfootball.com. They keep track of points against which is somewhat reflective of how good a defense is. The problem is points are also scored against special teams and on offense's by way of turnovers. texasfootball.com - high school - state rankings - 4a will get you there or [Hidden Content]
  14. dude, put the pipe down! that stuff is cooking your brain.
  15. anybody that thinks Hemmings is not good should recall last years game against the Raiders. he had 168 yards on 22 carries and Tezeno had 74 yards on 14. The difference is we are WAY better on D and can actually tackle this year.
  16. yea! i am from BC. they teach us to read there, believe it or not!!
  17. We know what we're up against but i don't think you guys do. I don't think its going to be as close as the predictions. I think Lumberton has a better O, a better D and better special teams. The only advantage i see PNG has is homefield. That's a motivator to the Raiders. The Rez and the Pound are two places you love to leave with a "w" beacuse it doesn't happen often.
  18. The change from a 4-2-5 to a 4-3 was part of it. Another part was putting some extremely quick guys on the D line. Our #2 and #3 running backs start on the line. These guys run 4.6 ish speed and are 6'2" are more. The D line has put constant pressure causing havoc on both running and passing games. This has allowed our backers and DB's to make some plays in addition to all the plays the lineman have made. The most important part was they learned how to tackle. Last year we missed 20-30 tackles a game. This year we usually finish the deal on first contact and EVERYBODY gets to the ball quickly. We need to be more disciplined to prevent the trick plays. PNG's offense will be a good test. I think the raiders D holds the indians to 200-250 yards total offense. Last year the indians gained 384 on us to our 230.
  19. Hussey gets my vote! His 256 yards was about 60% of the Raiders total offense against a talented, athletic, and fast central defense. Keep up the hard work #5! We're all VERY proud of you!!!
  20. We're going to come in and kick y'alls butt on your homecoming in the teepee, i mean reservation. Dang! That's going to suck losing homecoming :-[ I guess coach C needs to pipe in some loud music at pratice to get our players use to all the noise. LOOOOOOOL! crack me up!!!
  21. Raiders 31-10. We can't continue to turn the ball over and make stupid penalties. We've been putting points on the board but have yet to play a complete game offensively. This week it will be tough again against a good indian defense. Our defense and special teams will win the field position battle for us and we pull away after a close first half. "TURN IT LOSE"
  22. Central's SPEED and ATHLETES!!!!!!!!!!! That's all that was talked about all week long. Take away the two big plays and the 160 yards gained on those plays and we TOTALLY DOMINATED the jags holding them to 92 yards offense to our 418. OUR DEFENSE IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hats off to the Raiders on both sides of the ball. Congrats Cody on a great game. We know how valueable you are to the team. I think everybody else knows now. Also great game J Bell and J Ward. Look out pocohontas, the raiders are coming to pluck your feathers......
