  1. The GOAT wanted to see a Titan/ Indian match up.

    me too.

Both teams are scheduled to participate in Port Arthur on Thursday (i think) so hopefully we'll get a matchup. Both teams looked good in the 7 on 7 format tonight.

BTW..I spoke with Kenny after the games tonight and I mentioned how nice a Port Arthur/Port Neches predistrict game would be. He said after next season they'll have to fill schedules again and he'll be doing his part to make that happen. He thinks it would be great for the community, and the teams not having to schedule teams from Houston or further away.

I'd like to see us play PAM, WO-S, and Dayton in pre-season. Those would be some great games.

  2. Who is "them" ??   Who's  oppressed??    And how??

    (a) moderators (b)guests © taking away our rights to express our concerns on subjects that matter to the guests on the forum.

FORUM:  a public meeting place for open discussion c: a medium (as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas.

FASCISM: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

The moderators are trying to keep things respectful. If people would stop making things personal, a race issue, or both, there wouldn't be any locked or deleted threads.

  3. Yea..we dont want wuh happen last year to happen this year...Emotions got in the way last Year..(P.N.G and Central)

I hope we never see something that stupid again. I would hate to see the consequenses of something like that with the coach we have now. He won't put up with that type behavior from our boys.

Both teams have new coaches and I'm sure both of them will keep on top of things at the game. Neither coach wants to see something like that again this year.

  4. I think we're going to roll right over Barber's Hill, so it'll be either Texas City or Crosby. I'm going to go with Texas City. I think they would have obliterated us if we had played them last year (thanks alot, Ike), but, with the new system and the new coaches, I think we will stand a better chance this year. Crosby is going to be a good game, though.

Oh no you didnt ;D I doubt PNG will be rolling over anyone ::) This years BH team will be better than the one you squeked by last year :-*

And this year's PN-G football team will be much better than the team that rolled over Barber's Hill last year. ;)

  5. Great athletes as we all know, rarely make for a good team, it takes great teamwork for that. Look at Terrell Owens great athlete but huge ego, the best athletes around are actually those who let their team mates carry part of the load. Ozen may win one or two but don't count on much more than that.

Ozen will definitely win more than two games this season. I think Coach Nelson will have them as one of the four playoff teams out that district.  If you look at that district top to bottom none of the teams are bringing back real power houses its completely up for grabs. Ozen has as good a chance as any other team in the district including Lumberton!

I was under the impression that Nederland and Central will both be the real powerhouses of District 20-4A this year. PN-G, Ozen, and Vidor all have the potential to make the playoffs, but that doesn't mean that they will.

That is awesome, Vidor plays PNG on their homecoming.  I was already looking forward to seeing the new stadium, but the homecoming should add to the atmosphere.

I like sharing homecomings with Vidor. Y'all's halftime show is amazing.

  7. I don't think MHS would want to find out what it is like to tangle with the Broncos.

Just ask the Bulldogs how a fancy scoreboard helped them out the last time they played Dayton.

You gotta admit, it would be a good game. I think the Broncos would come out on top, but not by much and it would still be a good game.

  8. If you read the thread, country boy, I said in the beginning that it MADE NO SENSE for these people to do this sort if thing....Stop being on the attack and just READ...My career has nothing to do with you or your kid...Thank God...I am smarter than you on my WORST day and have the degrees to back it...If my message is not clear, then maybe you should try the recreation board on here...This is for educated opinions (and some not so educated) and conversation....Thats all...

For the record, would you please state who that post was directed at?

  9. Stats are for people that won't to live in the past .Don't tell me how good you once were show me how good you are now, Past records are for old men to tell there kids what was. Looks to me that PNG  has move from there great pass by removing one of there great has been and replaced him with the futher. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with remembering your past but don't live in it.And I have read the post and looks to me that someone pulled records going back to the 30 s, come on  how far back does anyone other than you care. Most kids playing now parents werenot born then. I know the kids that where the purple and white, or the gold and black are proud to where them but not for what was but for what they are now and who they are now.

Being one of those kids wearing that purple and white, I am proud to say that I not only stand for what PN-G is at present, but what PN-G was in the past and what PN-G will be in the future, and I can promise you that the rest feel the same way. There's a reason we use the term "Honor, Pride, & Tradition." There is a unity among all Indians, both past and present, and when the Indians of the future come to be, there will be a unity there as well. I don't know how things work at the high school you support, but down here at PN-G, we're all Indians. It doesn't matter whether you're an athlete, member of a performing arts organization, alumnus/a, average student, or just a member of the community, you're still an Indian from the day you become a member of the community, whether by birth or not, until the day you die.

That being said, the records that were pulled were pulled to prove that the Mid-County teams had won more than five district titles in the last thirty years, which is what texans had stated in this thread.

You know...  it always seems the people that are so quick to point out that tradition doesn't or shouldn't matter are the very folks that have no tradition to speak of the programs which they support.

I think it can work for and against you.  Take the 1st ever win by Lumberton at the Reservation last year.  You don't think those boys from Lumberton felt a rush and a sense of accomplishment to be able to tell their children and children's children that they played on the 1st Lumberton Raider football team to beat the Indians at the Reservation?

WOW! Did the Raiders beat PNG or the Dallas Cowboys? Do you think beating PNG is really THAT big of a deal that you believe these guys, immediately following the win, said to eath other "OMG what a story this will be to tell my grandchildren, we beat the mighty indians?" I doubt it.... ;)

    Yes.

This is the hidden content, please

Come now.... it really isnt that big of a deal!

Lumberton, at the time, wasn't a really well-known team when it came to football. Even when they had been in their first major season ('07) they couldn't beat the Indians. I think it was a big deal for this year's team to beat us, especially on our own turf. Besides, that game was a heated one. As I remember, we went into overtime and Lumberton barely scored. That was our team's last attempt to turn our season around and come out of it with something. I'll be the first to admit that that particular defeat was a crushing blow to us.
