Disagree strongly. He had all night to do it. Do it in the first half against kids who haven’t played both ways all night against a superior opponent. The game was never in doubt. He put his starters back in up 50 when Warren was on the goal line trying to score. You want to throw the ball with your backup QB don’t do it with 2 minutes on the game clock. His team may be full of winners but they didn’t learn sportsmanship from him last night.

Seems like yesterday I was going to 2 a days. It has flown by, II have enjoyed every minute of it, Work has held me back as far as football, hunting, and the such for several yeas. It getting better finally

My theory is that Coach Taylor was trying to work on some areas that could possibly benefit them in the playoffs but wanted the live game scenario.

The horns will face Athens in the first round. I was a little surprised by the Athens/Canton score, but Athens’ stud qb went down with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter. Not sure if he’ll be able to go next week or not. Also lost their running back before the half. He went out in the 3rd quarter but ran it once and had to go back out.

My kicker tonight was 6/6 on touchbacks, 4/4 on XPs, and 1/1 on FGs.

Jasper took the air out of the ball most of the game. A heavy dose of backups and both teams running the ball and letting the play clock run down in the second half kept the score low. On a positive note, the game was 1/3 of the way to the deer lease, and because the second half only took about 45 minutes I got here at 12:30 instead of 2:00 like I was worried about.

This is the first time since 1967 that Jasper went winless in district. (3-12 in district the last three seasons) Also the first time since the 1998 & 1999 seasons where they missed the playoffs in consecutive years.

Bi-District Playoffs Orangefield vs Trinity Friday, November 13, 2026 7:30 pm at Crosby High School

I was there. No defense anywhere. Yes the halftime score was 56-49 with a combined 960 yards offense. Game ended at 11:00pm. The Trinity QB is insane. He had 5 passing TD’s, 3 rushing TD’s, 3 Interceptions including a Pick 6. The Trinity skill guys play both ways and they had to have been exhausted. The Fairfield defense finally got a few stops in that 2nd half to outlast Trinity to get the win.

Coach Morgan sent over the a screenshot of the DEC rules on a 4-way tiebreaker. It states head-to-head is extinguished. Refer to the 3-way tie protocol, 18 points (plus or minus), to determine the seeding.

The reason I said loser’s mentality - West Brook lead late in game - choked, PNG lead late in game - choked, Texas City lead late in game - choked, Dayton lead late in game - tried to choke. In everyone of those games they were looking for a way to lose. I would call that a loser’s mentality why - last year 3-7 and most of same players back. I think their minds revert to last season. On the bright side they won 3 more games this season and will have a 6-5 winning record thanks to BL, GP, and SF
