116 K's to just 24 BB's in 447 AB's is certainly not ideal for the leadoff spot. The power and total hits are very good. OBP is .325 along with the batting average of .277. Those are quality numbers. I agree he has had a good season. I just like my leadoff guy to have more BB's and an OBP around .340 or higher. That's just me.

First off your way off topic 🤣 but secondly I can agree with you as far as kid that show up and work their tails off and perform during the summer and spring should play. “THE TALENT IS THERE” I’m speaking on the coaches putting kids in positions to maximize their ability, play calling, not playing the best kids, or having them in the game at the same time. Does that part fall on the on the kids also?

Republican or Democrat, we can't hold the Government responsible for our own bad decisions. A person buying an 80K truck at 6% interest will pay 98K over the 84 months with a $1168 monthly note, then likely trade it in or get another truck once paid off. Ironic that this same person would probably complain about gas prices, when he could of purchased a 45K truck and put the other 45K in a savings account. Thoughts? The problem is there is nothing "wrong" with the "economy." Economic growth is rising and unemployment is falling. Prices remaining high because of PAST INFLATION isn't an "economy" thing. Home prices being high because of a shortage of affordable inventory for first or second time homebuyers isn't an "economy" thing. Buyers taking out car loans for 84 months at 15% interest rates, and being upside down in their equity for 36-48 months isn't an "economy" thing. Having a large portion of the college educated workforce emerge from academia with worthless degrees that employers place no value in for hiring purposes isn't an "economy" thing. Trump and the GOP are going to pay the price for an "economy" when the problems are not a feature of the "economy." They are a product of choices made by voters in their own lives. I Agree! Our offense isn't setup for a QB like Lane that doesn't have the speed to scramble. Collins is somewhat faster it seems but look at the last two previous QB's we had and they were extremely fast. I support the Coaches and they will figure it all out. Gestring coming back will definitely be a huge part of the running game for us as well.

I would have to totally disagree! The biggest issue we have is the Helicopter Parents and Admin! The parents are the biggest issue in most cases. They want to call the shots and complain about everything. I have heard of parents complaining about SAC Camps because their Little timmy is in another sport, not attending lifts because once again they are in a different sport. Attendance of summer workouts, SAC camps, summer lifts should earn playing time. (That is if you are good enough). There are numerous players that feel they don't need to attend and find a way to still play. Another Trivia question? How do we not have one single Team Captain on our Offense? Quite Embarrasing! Is this on the Coaches??? Maybe to an extent but I can assure you the Coaches don't have the say they use too. I have been around this program for years and one thing is certain. Newman lead his program with or without your support and I can't ever remember parents wanting to come and dictate how he should run his program. You may not have liked him but rest assure everyone respected him including our admin. Kids are just simply soft and this falls on the parents! Our program is perfect for handing out Participation trophies and it definitely shows!!!! Rant Over

It would not be a debate, it would be your opinion..... It is obvious to me you didn't think out your comment or you realize there are none or very little differences.

Call me old school but I never like having my lead off hitter having the worst walk to strikeout ratio. In 447 AB's, he has walked just 24 times while striking out 116 times which is 3rd most on the team. Of all the everyday guys his strikeout ratio is the worst. To me, the lead off guy shouldn't lead in that category. With that said, we have no other choice to put at leadoff. Sadly, Pena is the best choice for that spot.

If the Astros can continue this hitting, the pitching can be mediocre. Spence batting in bottom of the order has given a huge spark to the rest of the hitters. For me, the way Peña goes with his hitting is a telltale sign. I’ve been wrong before.
