I'm not much on predicting games. Think Lufkin and Goose Creek Memorial still have a lot on the line for a playoff spot. Galveston Ball sure didn't look like a team that scored 31 against LaPorte earlier in the year, and more like the team who had lost 31-3 the week before at home to New Caney. So don't put much stock in Lufkin's 56-0 win last Friday over a Ball team that didn't want to be there. This district certainly has had unexpected surprises from week to week and these next two weeks are very pivotal to which teams can make the playoffs or not.

I agree. Its crazy how its goojg this hear and the refs are more hands on, on the outcomes a bit this year.

Early NCAA lines I'd jump on if I were still a gambling man: LSU -7.5 (huge letdown spot for Auburn after big win last week) South Caroline -2.5 (huge letdown spot for Tennessee after big win last week) Minnesota +7 And Texas being favored against Ole Miss by 3.5 makes no sense in the world, which means the Horns will probably cover but idk.

100% agree. My book sometimes alters those Vegas lines and nobody has too much of a problem with it.

I can watch multiple games at one time on NFHS and DCTX/Texan Live. Just can't watch it on multiple devices at same time. But that's most if not all streaming services. Not sure what is the issue with your subscription.

I will say I think honestly it won't speed the game up that much as 35 seconds is a very long time so I think it could lead to longer possessions. It will force coaches to have some late shot clock built in actions to run if their offense isn't producing a shot after 25 seconds. Also teams that rely on pressing like in the college game can adapt if in foul trouble to force teams into shorter half-court possessions with a slower press with less trapping as that is what I have heard the most in my conversations with college coaches about the change. There are lots of mini games that can be played with it that will take a few people a while. I don't mind people holding the ball either, I do like this for late game the most as teams will have to be able to play a little better late game than just use an elite guard to dribble around to run clock out in late game too. But I 100% see your point about it taking some styles away.

Seems impossible to make a profit betting NFL point spreads these days. Feels like no teams are consistent in how they play from week to week. And you never know how things are gonna go with the refs since their fingerprints are on the game's outcome more and more each week.

Well it seems NFHS and DCTX gonna shoot themselves in the foot. Especially NFHS. I SUBSCRIBE to both to see maybe 8 or 10 games all year in several sports. As of now NFHS lets you only see one team. DCTX will follow. Guess I won’t be subscribing to either in the future. I also seen a post that they are both are major donors of Talarico and Hinojosa. Guess they trying to pay for their ads. Wow Hadn’t heard anything on Hudl yet. Hopefully they stay neutral and don’t get into politics.

I told myself years ago that I would never do prop or individual performance bets. Never have cared for those. I guess I am too old school and think of it as "Black Sox" type betting. Might be losing out on some good opportunities but going to stick to my guns.

I personally don't think it adds. It takes away more than it adds. It will be more cookie cutter basketball. Everyone basically forced to play the same styles. I don't think that's a good thing. I want a coach to be able to coach however he/she thinks is best for his/her team's success. If that means being more deliberate style (not holding the ball for a quarter, I'm not for that) then so be it. Not every school has athletes and basketball skills to compete in an up tempo game. Coaches and players will eventually adapt but to me there was no logical reason for it. And don't say it helps prepare for the next level. That's for only about 5% of the players in the entire state. The other 95% ends their basketball playing days in the high school gyms. I just think UIL finally succumbed to the select few and fanbase.

Being that Shepherd's 20 of 22 starters are seniors, that doesn't bode well for next year. I honestly think this year's Shepherd team is as good as last year's.

It's not the defense, it's the talent. BC went through the 5 man front like a hot knife through butter. The only problem was they they couldn't play defense themselves. Vidor sees nothing but 5,6, or 7 man fronts all year. This will be no different from for them. I want Huffman to win, I really do. I just don't think they have a chance in hell of slowing Vidor down. And you better hope QB1 makes it back or it will be a blowout.

You ever thought that maybe they just can’t find away to get past the 5 man front? Seems like if there was a way around it other teams would have tried it

I am looking forward to this but hate how long I have to wait for small school level. I understand the cost argument for workers and finding people who do it but I grew up in a state that had it my entire life with no issues. Even at small schools there are solutions and ways that it can be handled. It adds a different dynamic to coaching for sure.
