Were the football players suited up?
Yes. Everyone except Reed (QB).
Well, do tell!  What happened out there?
Silsbee was struggling big time early on but fought back in the second half but honestly it was the refs that unfortunately took this game away from Silsbee.....just too many unnecessary foul calls(2 techs) against Silsbee!!
Although I saw some questionable calls for sure,  the 2 techs weren't part of them.  You can not slam the ball to the court after receiving a foul called against you and you can't walk off running your mouth in the same situation.  Especially when you are the same player who received the first T.h
I understand Danti receiving the 1st Tech. But the second was not by any means deserving for Danti!! He did not do anything worthy of that call....I don't care what anyone says but hey a win is a win and a loss is a loss! I'm still however very excited about this years team and their chances!
Whether or not 'he deserved it' really isnt the point.  His team had just battled back to take a lead late in the game. He already had one T on the game, he was not going to get the benefit of the doubt at that point.  You have to keep your mouth shut at that point for the team.  That second T  was the big factor towards the end that cost us the game. If he can't be more of a team player and control his reaction at that point then he doesn't need to be playing.  He can be a huge part of this team but he has to think of the team first.

Granted! Not a good team to lose to, however, Lee had a game plan and executed well.  The two teams scrimmaged each other before the season and Silsbee dominated (Without the football players). During warm-ups, They should've been practicing those easy shots that they missed in the game instead of practicing dunking.  Too many short jumpers and put backs missed made a difference

I agree, I was not expecting Lee to play as well as they did. Congratulations to them on  win the win. I do feel that if the Tigers would have played better we wouldn't even be having a discussion though.
I to believe the Tigers  get it together.  And They will need to because H-J is a little bit better than Baytown Lee.

I'm going to assume that the Silsbee "Nay" sayers know that there were some basketball starters playing football last Friday night.  If you didn't know it, I'm glad I could be of service. 8)

i personally think this is a Great loss fo Silsbee... to me it shows them that no matter whaT EVEN WITH A TEAM AT 97% full strength they are not invinsiable and the egos and attitudes have to go in order to accomplish the major goal at hand
I definitely agree with the part that I put in bold.

I did not see the game.  But I have confidence in AggiesAreWe to observe and report - without prejudice - what he sees.  So it may be a case of Silsbee "Stars"
wanting to take over.  But, again, I remind everyone that
last Friday Silsbee had some key basketball starters
playing in a football game.  If you haven't done it, then
I'll tell you that it takes more than 4 days practice to convert from the football field to the hardwood floor. ::)

I agree and in this case it was only 1 days practice. Monday was the first day the football players got to practice with the team then played their game last night.

It seems to be alot of focus on the football players returning, but lets not forget the team that held it down before they returned. We were winning then, and we will continue to win!!! Lets not be too hard on Danti either. This kid plays with alot of heart,he may have let his emotions take over this game, and possibly caused the a loss, but he has also caused PLENTY wins!!!

Has there been a suggestion anywhere else that a single player caused this loss? ???

Stephen, I think I understand what you mean.  But, really, there is NO SUCH THING as a GREAT loss.  There are only GREAT wins!  A significant loss may be, "A great learning experience," it may be "A great set-back," or it may be "A great pulse reading" - it may be a lot of great things, but a great LOSS, it is not. :)

And, what exactly is your point, as this compares to a preseason Class 3-A game in Texas High School Basketball.  Do you honestly see a connection?

Excuse me Dove, but I interpret those games as great victories for the winners and regrettable losses for the losers.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
