Barton looks so good running.  He's so fast!!!  What a backfield.  Contreras, Dial and Hopkins, too.

Love what the Dogs have.....and will have.    8)

Dogs Defense is at another level this year.  Don't know if I have ever seen a more COMPLETE Nederland defense.  Wow!  These guys will be remembered for a long time.
Nederland  has played great defense all year. It seems like so many coaches put all there playmakers  on the offensive side of the ball now that it's rare to see a team play good defense anymore. I for one enjoy watching Nederland  and vidor  still play solid defense.

Some of those running backs might have to move over to defense at linebacker to fill in for the loss of stampley and wood!
Barton will be a linebacker next year, as well as Stewart
As for Linebackers....

Mayfield

plus JV players moving up,  several quick, good size, strong players who could fill in at LB

I would see Tinsley would move into the LB group.
Tinsley is strong, fast, fast, nice size. (can't even count how many players he has cut across from opposite side of field and brought down from behind)

Stewart, great size, hands, quickness, as well.

Future is bright 8) 8)

There will never be another Stampley and Wood at linebacker.  What a duo!!!!  All around defense is one of the Nederland's ALL-TIME greats!!!

I have heard that the back up offense did good but how did the second string defense do?
Specifically players who will be filling roles next year?
They did pretty good last night, Brock will be replaced by Holman and Couron by Johnson, wood and stamp by Barton/mayfield/Stewart, Taylor/barrow/shaw by tinsley and some fast jv guys

That's what is going to make a great off season for Coach Neumann and the coaching staff, lots of holes to fill and lots of tallent to work with. We will lose a special senior class no doubt. The best defense I have seen at Nederland was 2000, this group is on that level, no weaknesses anywhere on the field.

I do not see Barton playing linebacker.. Seay for sure,  Mayfield or Stewart could be the other.

Agree, about Barton not moving to LB.  Barton is in the backfield next season again.

I think someone who is not in the know, may get his work at LB (at practice), just as backup this season for playoffs confused.

Barton scored his first td last night.....one of the many ahead.  Great kid!!!!

Well, I personally know both of them, and Barton likes playing linebacker (backup right now) and Seay likes to play that safety/lineback hybrid

I've been on both of there teams, there both just fine where they are, Barton may be a little undersized but hes fast smart and stops the run, and Seay is just good

Dont know if you remember a rb Ned had a few years....Genuardi...

Barton runs, size is a lot like him.

The back field next season is a coaches dream.

Hopkins is having a remarkable season.  Can't even believe we get him for another season.

8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Defense is the Best we have EVER had.....we have had a lot of great individual players on D, but nothing as fast, strong, the size and smarts like we have now at every position on D.....

The 2000 defense was loaded at every position and had more speed in the secondary with Sean Yoder and Ryan Pellitere, but like I said these 2 defenses are in a class by themselves and I agree this years defense is loaded at every position also, I wouldn't want to play against either one.
2012....season still going....defense is pitching 2 shutouts in a row...shaw, taylor and crew have nice speed, as 20 4 A knows...

wouldn't take anything away from 2000 Dogs, they played their hearts in Bay City game.

but 2012 D is on another level...
Neumann and company does/has always done a great job with creating solid Defenses!!!!!!

All said,
Go Dogs!!!

These 2 teams are very much a like on defense, offense, special teams and individual personel, loaded at every position, I hope this group can find more success than they did in 2000, like I said 2000 was capable of winning state, just needed to catch a break, this bunch of bulldogs is very much capable of winning a state title as well, let's hope it's a long playoff run that ends in Dallas.

No one gets to a state title game without a few breaks and making that extra yard when needed and stopping someone on that extra yard when needed.

All stay healthy, a couple of breaks and playing penalty free fb from here on out is key.

I am not overlooking Central next week....we need our A game next week as well....then one game at a time....that's all that matters.

Ned's next year QB should be White. Seay is too valuable on D imo. I could see moving Seay to LB and playing some optional O - wilddog, FB, WR etc.  White, should be a little more accurate than Raines and may make better decisions. Raines is a much better runner than White though. Either way, The Dogs will be the front runner for another title next season.

Seay could probably start over White at QB if they will let him, or if he wants to.

Good thing about Nederland...Coaches make the decisions (this in not Png).....and they haven't lead us wrong yet...

(maybe some were in that crowd when they were calling for Delage NOT to be the QB at the game in Port Arthur...thank God, Neumann knew better and put Delage throwing the rock and Delage took us further in the playoffs than we had been in a long time and since.....)

White will do just fine.....accurate passer.  8) 8) 8)

He did fine at Lumberton.....glad to have him behind Raines.  8) 8) 8)

    • Heading into the summer and before two a days get going… what are some concerns or positives about your team heading into next season? I’d like to hear from some H-F people because according to some they are the district favorites heading into the season. I’m just trying to pass some time at least until we get our DCTF magazines lol For Bellville my concern is filling some holes on defense… specifically at LB,S, and DT… bright spots ? Basically the entire offensive line returns that paved the way for 3 RBs to rush for more than 1600 yards a  on the season (2 of those RBs will return as well). With all that said Bellville should still be a region favorite this upcoming season.
    • That’s not a choice, it’s the same thing and equally dangerous.    I’ve literally heard (with my own listening ears) the R County Chairman boast in a speech that “the only time I’ve ever voted for a Democrat was when I voted for Hillary in the Democrat primary! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!” You’ll never guess who is tweeting all over the place about how we need closed primaries this week.  Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.  Escalation of force.  These are concepts that you completely understand and teach.  Whatever we do today, we’ll pay for tomorrow. Impeach a President over something stupid? They’ll impeach yours twice.  Promise to lock up your political rival if you get elected? You can’t cry over somebody else doing it to you… even if you were just blowing a little smoke for the morons.   The old days of “don’t throw rocks if you live in glass houses” has now become “I’m pretty sure I’ve got more rocks than they do.” The frightening thing is that Ds only do it to Rs. Rs do it to Ds and other Rs alike without hesitation.
    • Definitely does NOT sound like a fit for PN-G.
    • No offense, but both sides do it.  The Rs in Texas want to do away with decades of precedent and demand that Dems are no longer given chair positions on any committees in the Tx House. It sounds reasonable enough, until you arrive at a point when the Ds enjoy a single seat majority in the house, select the most leftist speaker of all times, and the refuse to give Rs any say in the legislative process by refusing to give them any committee chairs.     Experience has shown me that any time a party seeks to consolidate power in a legislative body, it backfires.    What I don’t like is a world where we cheer for Manchin for doing his own thing, but also re-elect guys like Paxton and Patrick when they make threats to R Legislators if they don’t do exactly what the Radical Right demands. Our Rep here in Hardin County lost his spot for voting against private school vouchers-his wife is a teacher. He also voted his conscience on the Paxton impeachment.  It cost him his seat…. Not because of the will of the voters in his district, but because if millions of outside dollars pumped into the race from outside the district and even an endorsement of his unknown challenger by Donald Trump himself.    Why do people like you applaud Manchin for being his own man and then vote against Phelan for doing the same thing?
