Best wishes to Soulja, Central, and the Dunk-o-meter for success Tuesday night.  I am simply amazed how these two teams, both of which were a part of HJ's "patsy" schedule are still alive in the playoffs a level above HJ.

According to some, the fact that HJ beat them means you dont need any info because Hj "didn't play anybody". From my perspective, they will be an interesting foe for you because I view them as equally athletic as the Jags.
Equally athletic?  Interesting. What about their size?  King and Brenham were just as athletic as us as well, but we had the size and length advantage.

If my memory is correct, Central should be a little larger overall than KP.

So you are picking Nederland over Ozen. ;)

I dont believe you can count scrimmages in pre season
Particularly where you only play about a quarter and a half and in Ozen's case they were a shell of what their team really is, zero football players playing at that time. (4 starters)

First of all, I'm pulling for you jags. Secondly, I just wonder why DV is not posting on this thread how good Yates is, and that Central might as well lose this game so they don't have to be humiliated by Yates. Just wondering, cause he is posting all over the Ned thread how much Yates would win by. Seems to me his posts have more relevance on this thread.

Perhaps the Central fans are not on here celebrating making the quarterfinals and being CO-champs of the district....They KNOW that its really not that big of a deal...perhaps... ::)

But, then again, just as you are entitled to say what you want to say, aren't the Nederland fans entitled to think what they want to think and say what they want to say without somebody condescendingly saying/inferring that they know not about which they speak.  You mentioned how your father and Luke Jackson Sr. play golf frequently.  I imagine if either one of them shoots within 7 or 8 strokes of par, they will consider that a great accomplishment.  In the world of high school basketball coaches it will be.  Does that mean, then, that Lazeek, who is a teaching pro, should come on here and tell them they have really not done anything and it is wrong for them to view that as an accomplishment?

Don't u think Central is just a little bit excited? I think it's been a while since they've won 2 playoff games, no?? Anyway, what's wrong with enjoying the ride? Have u always been the guy who emphasizes all the negatives in life?

KW Park plays like Nederland. Very similar personnel as well. Central is longer and more athletic, IMO. KW Park is 'smart' and relies on fundamental basketball. If they get hot from outside, watch out.
So, are thet consistent from the outside or are they streaky?  Do they shoot 3's in volume or shoot less with a hig percentage?

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
