We have always had a heck of time trying to get a signal out of the Bridge City gym.  They have tried like heck to help us but nothing has worked, so it would have been silly to even try tonight. 

Bad part about that is that I am blind as you are about the game over there.

What's that, the old run it up and humiliate your opponent deal.  That mentality is a vicious circle, although, my bad shoulder kept telling me beat down-beat down, the other side reassured me what coach Southerland did was obsolutely the right thing to do.  Those kids don't deserve a payback for the actions of others.  Hats off to the bench tonight they played very well and that game experience is very important. BC players got after it from start to finish, never gave up, hats off to you. Thanks coach Southerland for modeling good behavior to our athletes.  :) :)

i absolutely respect Sutherland for finding a way to keep the game from getting too far out of hand.  53-11 at the half, and find a way to finish the game with a score of 78-43?  Coach wise needs to take lessons.

Yes, Dickie, it could be.  The frequency in which it happens at Yates as opposed to how often it happens at HJ is the part that is suspect. ;)

OK, but doesn't the odds of it happening in a city as large as Houston increase in frequency due to the numbers? Which makes a kid moving into Sour Lake from Beaumont.....suspect... ::) ::) 8)

Every coach has his own style and quirks when it comes to handling his team.  Todd Sutherland AND Assistants always WERE, ARE now, and always WILL BE one of the classiest organizations in high school athletics.  It's his style and you can tell that (as the politicians are saying) I approve his message. 8)

You seem to pooh-pooh the idea of urban flight out of Beaumont.  I realize that you have been around a lot of places recently and, as I understand, you have landed in Nederland.  Take a little time and research the Beaumont trend over the past several years.  And, I didn't say Yates was the ONLY school in Houston having transfers in.  I did say that it seems that the [i][b]
frequency[/b][/i] at Yates seems to be much greater than any other Houston schools.  Why do you think that is happening?  Because it's such a desirable neighborhood?  Because there are many new
developments and projects so it is attracting families
with high school age children?  Because of the superior facilities?  All of the above? ???

yup, but i bet HJ's bench was playing really hard in a half-court defense and offense, and not running a press with a 2nd string that would start for most other houston schools...
