Silsbee vs. Navasota Game Thread/SILSBEE WINS 85-75!!!

Recommended Posts

Just got off the phone with Coach Collins. The game ended in regulation tied at 75. Silsbee out scored Navasota 10-0 in OT. Silsbee trailed 74-71 with 30 seconds left in regulation but Navasota committed a foul then the player got a technical, Silsbee made all 4 free throws to give them the lead at 75-74. Navasota went down court and drew a foul from Silsbee, made 1 of 2 free throws to tie the game at 75 with 10 seconds left. Silsbee missed a 12 foot jumper and two tip in's to end regulation tied at 75.

Silsbee controlled the pace in the OT and clamped down defensively in OT, also limiting Navasota to just one shot per trip by hitting the defensive glass hard. Tigers sewed the game away at the line, going 4-4 down the stretch.

Very good road win for Silsbee heading into district play. Was told this is a very good Navasota team, one that resembles Silsbee in many ways. They have a couple of players that can really shoot the ball. Navasota made 11 three pointers in the game.

Silsbee improves to 14-6 and will not play another game till Jan. 13th at home against Hardin-Jefferson.

Sorry for only updating at the end of quarters. I'm a slow texter and that was a fast paced game.  Silsbee had to and did play a good game to pull this one out.  Whoever meets up with Navasota in the playoff better bring their A+ game.

By the way...If your ever around the Lake Conroe area, I highly recommend Fajita Jacks. :D

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
