Vidor's Smallwood will not play Thursday night

Recommended Posts

Not good. Reguardless of what was said in the interview, Vidor has capable back ups at that position. They just haven't been getting any reps during games. Not even in non-district games. Also the kid on JV looks pretty good. You would think that after Bolinger going down, that they would be more prepared for the possibilities of losing someone to injury.JMO!

Vidor made a huge, huge mistake by not resting players as much as possible last week vs. Liv. Now the damage is done...

I am defintely pulling for Vidor, but they have an uphill climb in front of them.  :-\

I can tell you that i have gone and spoken to smallwood and the friday night football game or the time when he went down has nothing to do with why he is in the hospital. I'm not gonna go into detail about the reason he is in there but i can tell you it has nothing to do with football.

When you rest players at the high school level what message does that send? You can get hurt in practice so injury can and will ALWAYS be a part of football. Vidor as numerous RB it's just the next man up. There OL will put the holes there for him to run through.

Good point. The worst injury I ever had was a dislocated knee cap and it happened during practice.

Not good.  It looks like Vidor will have 2/3rds of thier Offensive production out if Bolinger doesn't play.  I know Quirante was hurt earlier in the year, is he at 100% ?
[/quote]

I believe Quirante is fine.  He played a great game Friday night.

Sorry about your lost. Hope he gets ok. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

He will be back in round two.  Has nothing to do with the injury Friday night.  As you know he was back in the game shortly after the injury Friday.

The Pirates will be fine Thursday night even if Smallwood doesn't play. Bolinger is back and chomping at the bit as well as Jeremy Stephenson (soph.) who's been getting in some good minutes. Montana is healthy and let's not forget our tank at fullback, Brentyn Clark. This is high school, not the pros. Losing our last two games in district was not an option and we played accordingly against Livingston going into the playoffs on the positive note we needed. Prayers from my family go out to David Smallwood and his family.

TJ Novak looks good and even though he hasn't gotten some playing time he is big strong and fast and been wanting to play since his injury earlier this year. He should fill smallwoods spot well enough.

2 cents - I'm hesitant to make a pick on this one because Vidor is so "injured."  Is your post for real or is this just some more of your smoke?

    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!

    • Come on dude, don’t take anything away from the kids on the field. If you want to talk uncharacteristic, we made what 3 or 4 errors in game one. Y’all had 2 EARNED runs.  Defense is normally our strong suit. Your ace didn’t strike out a single one of our kids. Like I said also, you did not out hit us in game 1. Hell you barley out hit us in game 2. We had all the uncharacteristic walks. Josh pitched a hell of a game is what made that game what it was.
