Anthony Decello, girls basketball coach at Tyler Lee. Decello was the girls basketball coach at Kountze a few years ago. I believe this is his first high school boys team.

He is a good basketball coach but if a certain freshman and soph. doesn't start on varsity next season, he will be thrown under the bus by "some". ;) :Decello is walking into a tough spot as the HF Longhorns are predicted to be the odds on favorites to win the state championship next season. ( that was my best stevenash ;D)

I haven't fabricated anything, spoken nothing but truth. What I meant by "tough spot" was that all the pressure is on Decello to win a state championship this coming season. If he doesn't, it will be a total failure since a state title for next season was predicted by the "chosen" folks at HF.

I am pretty sure UOS is not going away anytime soon.  Everyone maybe SORE , but they will be a "stronger" force to deal with when they are playing in AUSTIN  :o

Decello was the girls coach at Kountze a few years ago.

Well......... Best of luck to H.F. and Coach Decello. Seen him coach a couple of years with the Kountze girls. After  all the hype I thought Coach "K" of Duke would of got this job.

[/quote]I don't think anyone has predicted a state title for this year. The prediction was to win district this upcoming season. That goal is attainable. In fact, every school's goal (or should be) is to win district, right? So where is the pressure? See, here has been the problem: There were NO expectations at HF. Season starts and you play. Season ends and thats it. Same old cycle. You would probably be surprised at the number of coaches who have spoken to me, and agreed ;)

Aggie - The bar has been raised, I have been a student of the game and I know this for a fact when parents get vested with their children and their success only good things can come from that.  The Manning's are the prototypical family and they have two of the three sons playing in the NFL.  The Dove and other parents(used car guy) are totally vested in helping their children be excellent.  Decello is at HF because of his connection to used car guy.  Coach Price rubber stamped that hire so you have two families and many more that are single minded, State or Broke, that is what it takes to wake a sleeping giant from its slumber and I appreciate the efforts and commitment from these families.

"There were NO expectations at HF."  So their kids didn't want to win?  Maybe some of those coaches were running down H-F to recruit the little doves.
