1. If they got Hammerly, dove would have wanted her to coach the boys with her college playing pedigree, nope they got a more experienced coach that was at deweyville.  Glad that she accepted the job after being unable to secure the top four choices due to lack of monetary compensation that would be needed to work with HF community.
 2.
So what your saying is HF hired a girls basketball coach to coach boys basketball? That figures
The idea that a program that by all accounts is going to easily be one of the five best teams in the golden triangle for as long as the dove boys are there seems to beg the question, is a girl's coach the best they can do??  I go back to who did the hiring.  Car salesman is going around telling one and all that he brought in the next great boys coach.  And he may have just seems that the dove clan has taken a wait and see approach to the hire, probably after car salesman soothed their minds, I am with most on here that think this is gonna be the reason that HF does not meet potential this next year, a guy who wants to coach boys because he has one coming up is not a reason to get a job that has the level of potential that this job has.  On the other hand the guy took a 8K pay cut so he may be all in with this move.
 3.
Playoffs? You got HF winning the state title, not just making the playoffs. ::) All this time I thought you were somewhat of an intelligent man.
Aggie - The bar has been raised, I have been a student of the game and I know this for a fact when parents get vested with their children and their success only good things can come from that.  The Manning's are the prototypical family and they have two of the three sons playing in the NFL.  The Dove and other parents(used car guy) are totally vested in helping their children be excellent.  Decello is at HF because of his connection to used car guy.  Coach Price rubber stamped that hire so you have two families and many more that are single minded, State or Broke, that is what it takes to wake a sleeping giant from its slumber and I appreciate the efforts and commitment from these families.
 4.

Who is the new coach at HF?
Anthony Decello, girls basketball coach at Tyler Lee. Decello was the girls basketball coach at Kountze a few years ago. I believe this is his first high school boys team. He is a good basketball coach but if a certain freshman and soph. doesn't start on varsity next season, he will be thrown under the bus by "some". ;) ::) Decello is walking into a tough spot as the HF Longhorns are predicted to be the odds on favorites to win the state championship next season. ( that was my best stevenash ;D)
Aggie - I saw on SETX how hard most were on the Knight hiring at Lamar; and I know that Decello is a coach that has won a ton, but even you said there was rumbling about his ethnic background are you surprised how little is made of not being a coach that has not coached boys recently.  Would you agree this could be compared to coaching in the NCAA to NBA??  The jump from girls to boys can't be that easy. Last thing friends from the Tyler area have all made comments about Decello and his 100% passion for the game, that will cause HUGE issues with UOS and he has been known to be harsh or extremely blunt is his language, Coach Price has never said or would condone profanity in his program.  These are all concerns that will need to be addressed
 5.
A little bird told me that the doves were thinking of flying the H-F coop for private roosting in Beaumont that might be more divine.   :'(  Say it ain't so Blue.  I understand momma might be upset but that's no reason to give up a championship ring.
Dove Hunter - The way the HF community has recently treated the dove clan(mammagotjuice in particular) I would not be surprised if the boys want to move to make all happy.  I will tell you this a if mammagotjuice aint happy nobody is gonna be happy.  I doubt the parents will allow the small minded community of HF run out this proud and highly successful family.  Last thing if the used car salesman needs to get involved he will, his son maybe the Bosh in the LBJ/Wade trio. Two and a half men is what the HF team will be known as.
 6.
We have used the personal trainer as well.  As a matter of fact 2 of HF players used the same one last year. He also still had to do UOS as well even though I detest it.  I am just blown away that as a parent we would let a kid miss workouts that ALLLLL the kids are doing becasue you as a parent don't like them and yet go and play a tourney all weekend.  As to the implosion, what happens if this coach doesn't do the drills etc that you like, will he be on the outside too?  If you wanted the team to get better why not get the team playing in tournaments?  There are local leagues, tourneys and such yet have never seen HF participate in one of these, especially since you have someone coaching aau team there instead.  Can't always be about Johnny.
ALL kids are not equal.  That is why we have honors classes as well as AP and dual credit.  Your children are not on the same skill level as the Dove boys, do you disagree with that assessment?  As far as being coachable or a part of HF, they suit up for HF so that means to me that they are ALL IN and with their skill set and commitment they will bring home the ring.
 7.
If he has a medical reason to not workout at school (running), then how can he play in tourney games this weekend like Dove said he was preparing for? ::)
I have to admit the personal trainer has added to the boys skill set and they do not show that they are weaker, at least from what I have seen recently.  I guess each athlete can and should be treated differently.  Aggie you remember Red Auerbach and he used to say their are team rules and rules for Bill Russel I think ten rings later Red was right.  So give dove and the kids a break it is what it is and the proof will be in the rings that these boys promise to HF
Well, the gym was open today and only 3 players were in it, all 3 being 2nd team JV players. Where were the rest of them? ::)
Mine was working out to play this weekend in a tournament.
How is your son able to work out for games this weekend when he can't even run during athletics? Is walking around the track reading a book considered working out?
Well as I guessed there is a mole at HF.  Hopefully, you will not give me any inkling that you know why he's not been LIFTING WEIGHTS in athletics b/c then that mole will be letting out personal medical info which is a no-no! Come Monday..I am sure the Mole will have more info for you..b/c now he wont be walking but just reading a book. The school is full of moles which is why I got such a chilly reception a couple weeks ago. Aggie the mole should beware...you are dangerous!
Just didn't understand why Dove said he was working out for games this weekend yet he couldn't workout at school and now according to you he will not even be able to walk. ::)
Aggie - If I am reading this right you are questioning the heart of a champion at HF.  These kids are going to show everybody how basketball is meant to be played in the golden triangle.  If they do not workout during athletics like the rest of the students do that is simply because they should not be lumped in with them, they have a personal trainer and this weekend are playing top teams in Houston, while the other students at HF are playing on their Wii, talk about committed these men are the definition of the word.
 9. Blue - you gotta be thinking that if the new boys coach doesn't make the cut he might be able to get the most out of your daughters team in a couple of years?  He is more than qualified for the girls job what you think
 10. Just wondering if after the hiring some are out there thinking that if HF waited, a better applicant would have surfaced?  With the job market being flooded with Houston, Dallas and other metroplex ISD's laying off, there had to boy coaches that would be available!! I mean from what I hear he is not "Quite the right shade" and he along with new supt. took tens of thousands of dollars in pay cuts to take their jobs at HF.  Just food for thought.  I don't think the kids are the problem, come game time these young men will be able to execute whatever the coach ask, just hope strategy is up to the golden triangles standards.
 11. Coach girls basketball last six years one and done in playoffs this year.  Big time credentials for HF, look for great things.  May struggle with UOS but that is why the hired Price, to fix all programs and Decello looks like the man for the job
 12. HF is a school district that has the lowest pay scale in the area(regardless of classification) kids should be happy to have uniforms and coaches that care.  As far as loyalty is concerned the kids learn from their parents so NOPE no loyalty.  Taking your kids to where basketball is a sport they can win multiple state champions and get better every day would be a couple of great reasons to move, but you want to promote change and get rid of a good man a great father and person that has impacted many young men's lives. Your idea of promoting change is to under mind the coaches.  I bet you have emailed the coach and loudly complained and when your squeaky wheel did not get the greasing you felt necessary you aired your loyalty on the web.  Hit up ESPN and see if they have time to do a one special on your child's decisions "Lunch line Vs sandwich line" "Boxers Vs Briefs"  By the way having a big time D1 athlete at HF is like having offers from KY, Duke and UNC and choosing the worst team in Southland Conference because of academics.  These outstanding young players are missing out on so much by playing at one of the worst programs in all of SETX. Entitled is what you are you are entitled to all your opinions but when you go on a website and shout your loyalty it just sounds like sour grapes and moving on would be best for all concerned.  Sure fans in the stands have heard your loyalty long enough.
 13. Wow. I don't want to move I just want to complain.  Sure that your kids can read and see that you would rather hold them back at a school that has a top Little dribbler program that fizzles out in HS, then to move them to a challenging program at P.A.M. HJ or Silsbee.  You are right just keep complaining and your kids will learn that all that matters is to get on a message board and play the old blame game.  When that Little dribbler team stomped on the HF varsity did that not clue you in!!!!!!!!  You should have had your mighty Little Dribblers play HJ or Silsbee those are the teams you are measured against.  Hope the manager that the HF kids has talks to the parents and get those kids to a school where proper basketball training takes place.  Kids please tell your parents that you need a bigger challenge then to start on a team that has not won 10 district games in basketball in the last 5 years combined..
 14. The interesting thing about this post is that a freshman is not getting to play where their parents want them or feel they should play.  I wonder how much this or any parent that has this complaint truly loves their child.  I would think that any injustice and especially one as grave as not playing varsity for a team that when you combine their district wins it would take you 5 years to get to more than ten wins!!  MOVE and move now.  Yeah that makes too much sense and allows you to play the blame game.  Take your talents to other schools if it is a boy basketball player I think there is quite a few programs close by that win state so pick up and move.  Don't complain and open up threads like this be a person of action, that is of course if you want what is best for your child.  I think the person that opened this thread said do not bring academics into the conversation, so please do not give me any reason why you do not already have your house on the market and plan on renting in Silsbee or the HJ school district before district tips off.
