Maybe because some of the voters are not basing their votes on a week to week performance. There are 10 of us who all have their own individual way of voting. That's why it's a consensus poll.

What is your top ten, just curious? I would like to compare the poll and your opinion of the top ten.

I agree Westbrook is the team to beat in SETX, but these are rankings not results. Kirbyville deserves some credit for the season they just put together, I think they'll win state. Any comment I make concerning Dayton will be perceived as biased so I won't bother.

Ya'll have 1 quality win as far as your schedule goes. Everyone knows these are just rankings and that the head to heads would be much different. How many Dayton fans are belly-aching about a school that is barely in 3A being ahead of them?

I think it's fairly evenly spread. I'm not picking a fight. I'm with bronco1, WB is the team to beat in this area.

No one would dispute WB being #1 in SETX...head to head...

The word "RANKING" means just that...look at boxing for example...."Pound for Pound" rankings...Manny Paquio(sp) would be ranked #2 pound for pound behind  #1 Floyd Mayweather and you could have Vladamir Klitsko at #3....but if Klitsko sneezed on Pacquio, he'd fly out the ring....the word ranking by itself to the naked eye, means the team above you can beat you...therefore

"Pound for Pound" Ranking

OR

"Performance" Ranking

would be a better fit.

The only way this does not become a problem is ranking each classification separately.

That means that the final 5A poll comes the day after WB and PAM play head to head.

Then if you want to be eztra sure that the results are accurate then you have to separate the classes by the D1/D2 schools. In 1A/2A that is easy since the districts are split up. but it is amoving target for the school that have to wait for the end of the season, so we can not have a pol for them until the end of the season, a first and last poll, broken down by division.

I want to thank the guys that put this together and say good job. Now that does not mean that I will always be happy with where my Rebels are from week to week, and I will say so from time to time, but since this is just for fun and they are just something to generate lively posts like the one that is happening now, I would say it is more than doing its job.

I personally wish every team in SETX playoff success. I hope that we have lots of teams playing well into Dec. and can bring all the State hardware home that we possibily can. Keep up the GREAT WORK SETXSPORTS!

Hey I don't care about criticism of the rankings.  If they are critical, they have read them and that is how message boards like these operate.  But if someone is going to get personal to the point of saying that my guys don't have a clue about football, I'm not going to remain silent.
