I just don't see it on the tapes.  Their O-Line is tiny compared to that one and their backs aren't as big.  That's the only year in recent memory where the O was better than the D...one of the weakest D's Stewart's ever had IMO (5 suspended players mainly).  Of course he did take that team to state so they didn't suck too terrible!

I'm with you. I didn't go to the '08 game, but from listening on the radio, we just got pushed around. It definitely woke us up some.

Good or "bad" year, it takes a pretty good O to put more than 3 touchdowns on the Broncos D.

We didn't get pushed around, we just didn't have the depth to keep fresh legs in the game.  Losing 5 will do that to you.  That was a shootout and in the end we were just a little too tired and the ball didn't bounce our way.

This year's defense is one of the best I've seen in bronco land as far as overall team defense goes.  I like this team and if we take care of business against Livingston, I think the broncos might have a little something to prove if Brenham gets to round 2.  It's not too often that the Broncos go into a game as the underdogs.

I wouldn't really say pushed around.  They had 2 big backs and a huge o-line.  Their QB was greased lightning Harris.  This team doesn't compare to that one size wise.

What made the Livingston offense click the last time Dayton played them is that there running back got to the line really quick and was through the gap before the linebackers could read them.  Can't wait for Saturday.  Weather on Saturday looks to be FANTASTIC!

Our safety had 19 tackles that game, 12 solos and 7 assists.

He (Dylan Bethea) went to Abilene Christian, broke his hand, currently attending San Jac, tranferring in the Spring to play ball, hopefully.
Ford Smesny is who you must be thinking of that went to McNeese, he graduated in 07'. He is still their, starting Buck Safety.

I was thinking of Smesny. They were both great ball players though. Thanks for the update.

Well the safety they have now will do the same. Xavier Baldwin
Xavier started as a sophomore back there with Dylan, X can get it done, the only problem is their Rb's might not get that far back on this years linebackers. They wouldn't have in 08' if Fred Hynson and Moises Herrera would have been back there at LB.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
