I saw things in the Vidor / Kirbyville game that said POTENTIAL...I believe Vidor just needs to get the right people in the right places settle down and Like Coach Alvarez tells the Wildcats we can't win them all unless we win this one...One game at a time... Vidor +7
Very true Kats...All the underclassmen we have are starting to make fewer and fewer mental mistakes and the secondary is getting better and better each week...Knock on wood we didn't have one blown coverage in the ned game.

Vidor will have to cover very well against Lumberton, they can throw and the receivers do not drop passes. Vidor is coming together with a lot of young talent, and I know Lumberton will want to bounce back after last Friday night. This game could come down to the wire, with the winner having the last offensive possession. L-Train defense will have to step up to keep the ground and pound Vidor offense off the field. Good luck to both teams, this should be a very good one to watch....

Vidor will need all their guns-a'-blazin' when they take to the road to play Lumberton.
The secondary covered pretty good against Nederland, seems like they're settling in and seeing the game a little better. I'd like to see them be more physical against Lumberton. We need a couple of head hunters roaming the secondary that will make the receivers dread to come across the middle. Also letting receivers off the line without a fight is hindering this secondary ......imo.
Vidor can’t afford to let Lumberton's receivers get behind the secondary, and we don't want Hughes scrambling out of the backfield. As for the o-line I see improvement, but we're still not staying on our blocks long enough to be effective at times.......Just my two cents' worth.  GO PIRATES!!!

If we play uninspired football the way we did @ LCM, anyone will beat us. It doesnt help morale much to see Mcdonald, Richardson, and Howden; 3 starters in khaki shorts and t-shirts on crutches, a mid game injury to Mouton, also on crutches, then Hughes unstrapped on the sideline done for the game. Were spread pretty thin right now and need people to step up. This thing could go either way, along with the rest of the season. We can roll over, or instead get some intensity and execute....we'll see

Great post! This is very true! I just wish people wouldn't count us out this year so soon! Hopefully we will get our momentum back this Friday night and get back on track! Having 4 starters out is going to be rough, but like you said...some guys are going to have to step up!! My prayers go out to all the teams playing this Friday night, and Good Luck to all.

I am really looking forward to this game. It will be very intense as always. Hate to hear that Lumberton has some injuries. I pray them a speedy recovery. Not too excited about playing in Raider Country again but there is nothing we can do about it. The bottom line is the team that comes out with a fire under the tail will take home the W in this one. Good luck to both teams.

Lumberton 21 Vidor 3.
Oldtimer your rush defense just got trounced and your only giving Vidor 3 points ??? We will have to see. Vidor by 7
Actually I think our "Rush defense" never adjusted out of being ready for their pass attack which they apparently shelved knowing we'd be ready for that. I never really saw us stack the box ll night long.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
