Maybe a little explanation is in order.

Yesterday, the All-District was provided by the coaches of 20-4A to SETXsports.com and was initially posted.  As it is the usually custom to publish such teams only after all of that's district's teams have been eliminated from the playoffs and fearful that there had not been a consensus of the coaches in the district to publish the list at this time, the list had been taken down.

However, in the last few minutes, SETXsports.com has received assurance that the coaches have given their consent for this list to be published at this time.  Thus, it has been decided to re-post the team.

Did they not have an Honorable Mention team?

Seems like when I played you only had 2 pitchers and 1 person at every position and a utility guy for first team and the same for second team. Maybe I remember wrong? 1984 was a while ago!!!!!!!

'82 here also. I do believe it was 2 pitchers on 1st and 2nd team and one position player. Only district champ advanced in those days.  many days ago.  ;)

that's 24 players recognized as 1st team or mvp, only 3 players short of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team all in one.

Class of '80 here. So far I am in the lead. td we did have an honorable mention team back then. The difference between now and then is now 90% of the starters get picked for something. Back in our day it was about 55%. I was being generous with the 55%.

Good days though. Good fundamental baseball. Probably not as skilled as todays player and probably not physically as ready as todays player but probably more fundamentally sound.  Good days.

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
