it's awarded in amounts. like it's a certain dollar amount.

one person can get a full ride, one can get their books and tuition, one can get their room and board and books. it doens't go by saying here's $8,000.. pay what you can.

so that's my guess..

What about Musgrove from Kirbyville???

......I dont think kirbyville has any help (the coaches dont help getting to the next level except in football and favorites..) getting to the next level...

ANY player that has ANY potential should not wait on ANYONE to promote them, you have to go get it, IMO its like a woman trying to get preg.....IF she don't expose herself its NOT gonna happen, with the internet today a player can findout most anything concerning tryouts, camps, ect.....IF you wait till your senior yr.>> you're LATE<<

Randy probably is doing something in football...This kids got potential in all sports......I dont think kirbyville has any help (the coaches dont help getting to the next level except in football and favorites..) getting to the next level...I've seen much potential going through KHS and small town drama gets caught in between the help of advancing...Just my two cents...

All I will say is that myself along with 2 of my classmates went through this our Jr and Sr year @ Kville....

You are right about what you are saying, but when the parents have to schedule visits/tryouts with colleges something isn't right....especially when the colleges have sent letters and shown interest to the coach about said player.  All the while the coach knowing what was going on and ignoring it because of their own self pride...not trying to stir the pot, just stating an incident.

      That's an interesting take, but considering that an incumbent enjoys a HUGE advantage historically, I think Covey came pretty close to an upset. I don't care one way or the other - the biggest reason being that I live in Hardin County. But I have to think the Trump endorsement got Covey that close in the first place. His only recognition was on a very local level, virtually unheard of before the Trump endorsement. Otherwise, he probably would've lost by thousands of votes instead of a few hundred. Just my observation.

      I think the interesting point is this… Trump backed candidates do better when Trump is on the ballot. Back in March Covey was up by 3%, and that skirt from Jasper pulled about 10%… and most people believed that her voters would go directly to Covey. Conventional wisdom was that Covey would be up by 10-12 points if all things went according to the pattern from March. That just didn’t happen. Typically turnout is lower in runoffs than in the primaries, and my guess is that Phelan had fewer votes this time around than last, but covey had WAY fewer votes. A friend of mine has been watching a similar runoff in central texas, and the results were similar. The MAGA guy just didn’t turn out the votes this May.    My opinion is that a large portion of the support these Trump guys are just that…. Trump supporters. They’ll vote down ticket according to MAGA directives when Trump is on the ballot, but when they can’t vote Trump, they just don’t show up at all.

      Then you should have known lots of people said the exact same thing when the alcoholic Democrat Ann Richards was elected way way back in the day. Texas has become redder and redder ever since. People, especially blacks, are waking up and realizing the Marxist Democrats are destroying them. Feel free to hold your breath waiting on your dream to happen though. That would be fun to watch, LOL.
