I believe that baseball is a TEAM game that celebrates individual accomplishments. That's why there are so many individual statistics available. ERA, K's, Batting Avg, On base pct, etc... I do know that the only statistics that matter at the end of the day is W's and L's. But it is fun to folllow the players that help their teams get the W's.
