Were we missing a kid the first two games?

They were there against PA and the LM scrimmage...however as I stated in an earlier post...Stowers used his nickel package against the spread teams...during the Lamarque scrimmage we were real vanilla and didn't show a whole lot! (I know you already knew that)...remember PA was held to 150 total yds...only 74yds rushing for the team!

Dude! I said there is no star at RB and you said I will see a star this week...  Then I asked was there a kid missing in the first two games... And you went back to defense... ??? I am confused... Like I said Central does not have a star RB!

My bad, Cat Daddy...I assumed you meant defense!  As far as the "STAR," I can't tell you anymore!  I gotta get those juices running...anticipation...you know, the curiosity that kill that cat

Hate to tell you, man but this ain't the Central team from last year.  I know you remember the Central team that handed your behinds back in 2006.  This is something like that team.

WO-S is a good team.  But they don't have enough horses to beat us for a full game.

by the time png and central play nov 7(possibly for the DC), both teams will be at full speed.. there will be no thumping on either side my friend.. but since u bring up 2006, lets bring up last season

PNG-42

Central-21

Thump

That was the the second most points that we put up last year even thought we was down.  Nevertheless, OUCH!!!   :o

That is because your coach finally got his head outta his beeeep, and put Hall at running back.  Had he been there all year, ya'll woulda been totally different.

What are you talking about?  Hall was at RB all hear... :-\

Well, excuse me, I didnt know that. But, against PNG, he didnt go to running back until it was already out of hand.  Then the Central O came alive.  He was running wild.

He ran Ok..in fact he coughed one up against y'all!  Now the year before...he torched y'all!  You and I are on the same page...he should have been more of a player than he was...but a lot of that was on him!  He'll always be my boy and I'm not saying anything here I haven't already said to him!

Some of you need a different hobby and give up on High School Football!!

This year is NOT 2007 nor any other previous year, so you can throw all of that out the window.

LCM- Automaticall DQ'ed from the top 4. They need a NEW coach the one they have has already proved he is SCARED!!

OZEN- I seen Ozen plan WB and was not impressed. So they are eliminated from the top 4.

LIVINGSTON- Is a mediocre team and will be competing for one of the bottom 4 spots.

Now for the final 5 teams!

VIDOR- is still a young team and really have not played a quality team yet. What you have to watch out for in Vidor is their coach is a GREAT motivator and this alone could carry them into the playoffs. BEWARE of this team, they could turn some heads. Will battle for a top 4 spot

NEDERLAND- Another team with a GREAT coach. They also have a seasoned QB and one of the BEST WR in the state. They are questionable on defense. Will battle for a top 4 spot.

LUMBERTON- Is looking good so far other than the turnovers. This could come up to bite them. They too have a GREAT coaching staff and are doing a fine job putting the talent together to create a winning tradition. They will continue to be winners for years to come. Good offense and defense! Will compete for a finish anywhere in the top 3.

PNG- Has some talent but their squeaking by Barbers Hill and Crosby have me leery about a District Championship. They should be good enough to finish top 3 though.

CENTRAL - I was impressed with the way they played WB. They have a VERY good shot at winning the District Champion. Look for this team to finish in the top 2.

Good luck to all teams in '08. I hope ALL the teams can keep me on the edge of my seat this season.

I laugh at the people that say PNG squeeked by BH. Look at the stats. The score does not always show the entire story. A Win is a win in the end, but PNG dominated that game on both sides of the ball. BH had 200 total yards (of which 45+ came at the end when PNG went prevent) and PNG was over 350. BH scored both TD's on the next play after PNG fumbles (both times they had the ball inside their 20). That's part of the game, but it wasn't like BH was doing anything that PNG couldn't handle. I will admit that Crosby was a nail bitter and PNG really played poorly in the first half, but MB did what he does best with his defense and made some adjustments at the half and got that young QB of Crosby rattled. They also opened up the playbook on offense.

I am not sold on PNG being a big threat in the playoffs, but I do see them getting one of the top spots in the District.

1. Central

2. PNG

3. Lumberton

4. Anybody's guess (Nederland and Ozen will at least be battle tested).

Ozen (They have already played their toughest games, and are looking better & better each and every week)

Central (Talent and speed can keep any team in a 4 team playoff race, Central is easily the fastest team in the district)

PNG (plays every game like it's their last. expect them in the playoffs)

Nederland (Playoff History Enough Said....)

Ozen???? What history do they have?  And, you better hope that they have played their toughest games with the strumming they took.  However, one of the more athletic teams in the district, they just dont seem to have that drive to push them over the hill.

Central is never without talent and speed.  Have it year in and out.  Sometimes good, sometimes awful, but always very talented.  They are a coin flip, because they should be winning year after year.

And Nederland's playoff history is not that deep....go back a decade or so and you will find that they ended last year and started this year just like they were back then

District ends like this:

PNG

Lumberton

Central

Livingston

And I add Livingston in there because I cant think of anybody else worthy of being in there right now.  Have heard a couple of good things on them.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
