UIL approves home-field advantage in 1st round for all classifications

UIL approved giving football teams in 4A & below home-field advantage in first round of playoffs and adopting that for all classes in basketball, volleyball, team tennis and soccer. Currently, only 6A and 5A football teams get home field in first round.

According to the UIL release, it goes into effect next year. 2027-2028

Correction on when this approval begins.

For 4A and below it will start next school year and not this school year.

6A and 5A will continue as is.

Uil is strange. Why wait now? Oh well i look forward to it next season.
