10 straight years in playoffs in a tough district. Good pay and pipeline. Should be a lot of applicants. And yes, the Beaumont schools are being left behind

BH pays very well from what I’ve heard, I’m sure it’ll draw a lot of interest. And school that size produces quite a few athletes!

 BH pays extremely well and Pennington has been there a while. 

I think Pennington was there ten plus years. But when he got it he was the third coach in maybe three years? He also came from Hooks which is a 3a and the previous guy was from Canadian ( I think) which is 2 or 3a. My prediction is this time around expect a highly successful coach from a 5a/6a. I think it’ll be someone with a ring or someone who got real close.

Eagles 12 you're not out the woods by leaving the Bmt. schools behind. You will have to deal with a different branch of competition with Dickinson & The Clear Creek ISD schools.

Yeh, i don't see anyway BH keeps the success in hoops going unless they hit the portal pretty hard.

Is this a good or underwhelming hire? I dont think of great basketball when I think of STX

Makes sense now, buddy ball - 

"Bourg led the Flour Bluff Hornets boys team to a District 29-5A title and three rounds deep in the Region 4-5A-D1 playoffs this season and is a familiar face to Barbers Hill Athletic Director Cody Simper. 

 

Bourg started his coaching career as an assistant basketball coach at Corpus Christi Ray in 2010 which was the same year that Simper took the helm of the football program."
