Every time you hear about somebody trying to stop people from voting, it’s a Republican. 
 

Republicans are a dying breed. They need to “Make America Great Again.” Like pre-1964, before the Civil Rights Act. How about a little more separate but equal… is that what they mean by Great Again? Maybe they’re talking pre-suffrage, when women were finally allowed to vote? Or would yall prefer to go back to pre-civil war days? How far back until we’re “Great Again.”

 

Republicans want to go back to ways of thinking that were exclusionary, biased, and wrong. They miss the days when they oppressed everybody, but those hateful days are thankfully over and we’re never going back. Too much progress has been made, and the correct movement is correctly named progressive.

By thinking minorities and women can’t vote because it is too complicated or too much trouble is treating them like they are oppressed or too stupid to vote…..here is an idea, why don’t we treat everyone equal?  Your way of thinking makes me think Democrats just don't want to loose control over minorities….promise them free stuff and they will vote for us….. I think they are smarter than that and we should treat everyone the same…..

We already know that illegals aren’t voting in our elections. It’s been proven to just be another Trump election lie. 33 POTENTIAL incidents out of 11.3 million here in Texas. That’s nothing.
 

So why change it up? It’s been 150+ years and the same group of people (older white males) are still trying to keep as many people as they can from voting. Nothing’s changed.

LOL - so it is your stance that Republicans are making it to where no one can vote with just their photo id? 

After the save act passes, if you are registered to vote, your DL will be fine to vote. Registering to vote, you will need your birth certificate along with you DL......BTW - when my Son got his first got his drivers license, he needed his birth certificate..... and this may come as a shock to you, but I was able to provide it and we made just one trip.

I’m not saying I know it all, but when I go to vote using a valid, government issued ID, I will be able to vote every time with no problem.  Prove me wrong!!

If they pass the save act, and you have to re-register for any reason, you won’t be able to vote without proving citizenship to the voter registrar no later than 30 days before Election Day. 
 

Maybe you move. Maybe they change your voting precinct. Maybe you get married and take your husband’s last name with a hyphen. Maybe you’re a college kid who wants to register to vote where he now lives, but his birth certificate is back home in the state where he grew up. Maybe the president says “we all need to re-register”-this being the more likely outcome, but directed only towards political affiliation or location. As in, “Oh, there was cheating in Fulton County, Georgia like no one has ever seen.  Not in nice places like the ones where you all live, but in disgusting places like Atlanta, or Phoenix? Those people will definitely be forced to reregister before voting in November.” Fun stuff like that happens when you have a wanna be dictator who’s constantly in conflict with reality.  Either way, it’s not a big deal unless you need to register.

But now that the Republicans are on the ropes and losses are almost guaranteed this fall, the rs have to do something to keep as many people as they can from voting.  Illegals voting in our elections doesn’t happen. It’s just more of Trump peddling lies to the more unfortunately witted amongst us, which they snap up like red trucker hats.

Exactly one time more than y’all respond with inaccurate information. 
 

Quite simply put, it doesn’t matter if all it took to vote before was your photo ID. It will be inadequate if the Save Act becomes law and your registration must be renewed. And saying “so what? At least it will stop illegals from voting” isn’t true… they aren’t voting now.  I’ve proven that to anyone who can fog a mirror.
