Well, we do bring a few people. We probably average 8-10 a show. The problem when you play 6 -8 times a month, it's really not an event anymore. If you can see us anytime, people won't come every time we play. Our contribution to the venue is keeping people there longer eating and drinking and tipping their servers.

Is Sangria Wine one of your top tunes? lol

I can envision y'all doing a mean Jerry Jeff. Anybody can do a mean Jerry Jeff after enough Sangria wine. Even if they can't, no one cares.

I play in the poker room. Poker is a skill game.

I don't mess with the one armed bandits.

But I appreciate the sentiment.

What kind of poker? I like Blackjack but have never done well.

Where did you pay $4.57 for regular unleaded in SE Texas......

They seen you coming......

I have not paid anywhere near that.......I believe I paid $3.57 at Wal-Mart last fill up.

But the FACT REMAINS that gas peaked at $5 per gallon under Biden in June of 2022.

If it’s such a small price to pay for what we are going to get in return then remove all taxes on gasoline until this is resolved and oil and gas companies make their normal profits instead of record profits.

Did you see where I posted Exxon and Chevron lost money in the first quarter of this year?  It was on Spectrum News yesterday.  So, where is all this profit?  Now, remember, oil companies don't actually set the prices at the different gas stations.  So if certain gas stations are ripping you off then that's on them.

Does that loss include the subsidies that these oil and gas companies get? Nothing is stopping our government from suspending all taxes on fuel till this situation in Iran is resolved.

Hey, I'm for doing away with a lot of taxes.  Not a problem.

Info on the energy sector so-called subsidies. May provide a different take.

So it’s a wash? They don’t receive subsidies? Interesting

They receive multiple tax breaks & investment guarantees. No different than ‘green energy’ companies. Although, wind, solar, and biofuels receive more direct subsidies. Renewable energy accounts for about 67% of federal energy spending.

I wouldn’t say it’s a wash. But, it’s not a hand out. They have to invest to receive the benefits.

The government has always (for around 100 years at least) felt that energy security was national security. So, they provided investment ‘breaks’ to help stabilize the oil market and encourage investment.

That’s one of the main reasons US energy companies are the technological envy of the world. The government helps them invest in new tech when the firms are willing to take a chance on very expensive projects by providing said tax breaks, technology grants, and other incentives.
