Tatsuya Imai has to go.  He has failed to get out of the FIRST inning in three of his 15 starts this season and has thrown fewer than five innings eight times.  This information is courtesy of Chandler Rome who I follow on the X (old twitter) platform.  The Stone Cold Astros podcast believes Dana Brown is a lame duck.  The Astros will let him ride out this season, the last year of his contract.  If the Astros make a deadline trade, supposedly Brown wants a bat.  Espada is asking for starting pitching.  Which one will win that tug-of-war?

I say pitching because that’s what the game is all about. We have plenty of fire power, they just forget to show up some games. Hard to believe Imai was part of the combined no-hitter.

I went to bed on them too. Had to get up early. Them west coast games are tough. Lol

I don't think you can trade him but I do agree we need a different starter. 

I think we need a pitcher or two and not necessarily a bat. 

I'll be curious to see what the Astros do come trade deadline.

Imai has 2 more years guaranteed at 18 million per year.  Even if you wanted to move him and some team sees tremendous upside in him, they wouldn't willing tell you that and you aren't moving a guy with a negative WAR and that much guaranteed money without eating a tremendous amount of it.  Have to hope he can become a "dude" next year is the likely scenario.

Astros remain 2 games back of Arlington for division lead.

Houston has won 7 of last 8.

7-4 win and a series sweep of the Angels.

Houston is .500 (55-55) for the first time since April 7 when they were 6-6.

Astros are 35-24 since May 20.

I just want to get 2 of 3. But a sweep would be nice.

I agree.  Very well could happen,  You can get use to winning and also the same with losing,  Right now it's going Astro's way,  Depends on consistant pitching.

Houston with an 11-2 win over Arlington.

Astros are now in first place for the first time since April 3rd when they were 5-2.

Houston has won 9 of last 10 and are 12 games above .500 (36-24, .600) since May 20.

Along with leading the West, the Astros now have the same record as Cleveland who presently hold the final wild card spot.  Nice change of status in just a few weeks for the club.

Poor Dezenzo, with a position player pitching for the Rangers and the bases loaded, they pinch hit him for Alvarez and he got booed. Of course the boos were for the substitution, not the player. That had to be tough.

I really like our first 4 batters and it seem like the end of the batting order is doing pretty good right now according to Pena and Alveraz rbi numbers.
