Lambert had 105 pitches in 5 innings and we had good D and O for him.  Gonna be hard in Arlington but it can be done,  Alvarez should be back

I think Peña is a huge part of that lineup. I like him better than Correa….sorry. Won this one without Alvarez and Altuve. Walker is amazing. Hope Alvarez comes back soon.

fans were angry when Dana Brown traded UT Mauricio Dubon for IF Nick Allen.

These are their numbers for this season:

Dubon: .265 AVG, .317 OBP, .717 OPS ($6.1M)

Allen: .297 AVG, .366 OBP, .771 OPS ($1.4M)

Its ok to love Dubon and not hate Allen or the deal.

Yes. But at the time Dubon IMO was the best utility man in MLB.  Allen is good but was unheard of at the time.  Just saying.  Only 4.5 back.

The trade had more to do about the money being saved ($4.7 mil) and able to spend elsewhere.

I understand the numbers and why things are done, but the way I look at it, swap players and swap their money, but Atlanta was willing to pony up for Dubon. The stats show the Astros made the better deal, but it was a gamble just to save some bucks. Maybe this is why I’m not a general manager. Lol

Little more than just averages need to be examined when Nick Allen has a total of 11 hits on the season and is a career .214 hitter. He went 3 for 3 today with his first homer in 2 seasons to boost his average over 60 points.  Yes, money was the issue and Dubon had to be moved to avoid luxury tax, but comparing these 2 guys is a stretch.  My uncle says hello, btw.

The trade was strictly about the money. No question.

I only made the comparison (actually, got the comparison off an X post) to show what the Astros were getting for $4.7 Mil less.

Houston couldn't keep Dubon. I believe they got what they were expecting in return. A decent player off the bench.

The 5 combined I believe ranks in the top 5 all time in MLB history.

Just looked it up. They are actually #1 in that category of combined no-hitters. No other team has more than 2. What an odd stat. 4 in the last 8 years.

They now have 18 total no-hitters which is tied for 3rd in all of baseball. Amazing when you consider how young the franchise is ('62). They surpassed the Reds tonight who have been in existence since 1882 ("modern version").  Tied with Red Sox, Cubs, and Giants as of tonight.

The Mets, same season of inauguration as the Astros have 2 in team history.

Edit here as I found one more stat...since 2022 the Astros have more no-hitters than all other teams COMBINED. Just an amazing statistical anomaly.
