AggiesAreWe Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Report Posted Monday at 04:15 PM Silsbee assistant coach Ira Brooks will be coaching his last home game tomorrow night. Coach Brooks will be retiring at the end of this season. Coach Brooks has been coaching at Silsbee for 32 years. He has been a mainstay and key component to the success of the Tiger Basketball program. His JV teams have always been successful and have won many district championships even when several freshmen and sophomores were playing varsity. Coach Brooks has earned the respect and love from many coaches in our area. He has been a fantastic coach but an even better man. He will be missed. Congrats to my friend Ira. Folks like hime are indeed rare in schools today. A lot of schools are used as a stepping stone to move on up. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

Boogy1000 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago 1st Coach Collins, then Coach Sigler, and now Coach Brooks. All the coaches from the Silsbee state runs have retired. The Silsbee sidelines will look alot different in years to come. Hopefully Coach Brooks son has the opportunity to be a head coach in Silsbee one day. Quote
