Lufkin and United both win would leave

GCM 4-4 

H2H would all be 1-1 against each other now so they go to points where United gets left out mainly because the 28-14 loss to West Brook. And now West Brook gets in because they end up +7. GCM ends up at +4 and United ends at -11. 

Lufkin loss and a United win would leave

Lufkin 4-4

United 4-4

Westbrook 4-4

GCM 4-4

After H2H United and GCM both get in because they both went 2-1. Westbrook and Lufkin 1-2. No need for points. 

 

Those all assuming West Brook wins tonight.

Lufkin Freshmen A team actually played LaPorte JV last night and won 34-18. We lost our JV team when grades came out. We have 12 sophomores already on varsity and 1 freshmen. The Lufkin Freshmen are very good. LaPorte played the B team last night

Lufkin Freshmen A team are on the JV now. Thats why all of a sudden the JV started winning. The freshmen group is loaded. They were beating every freshman team by 40-50 points.

Should be a good match up years to come. I know La Porte's freshman have been solid all season while 2 freshmen start on Varsity. Should be a good matchup years to come.

See that’s what I thought. But PA mentioned something that had me thinking otherwise. Did they keep the same JV QB? Wilson got injured right?

What happened was after grades came out the JV was left with 10 kids. So they took majority of the Freshmen A team and moved them up. Smiley went straight to varsity and Taylor went to varsity and then back to JV.

My goodness. I didn’t realize grades hit them that hard. It hit the freshmen and JV volleyball teams too. Ask me how I know lol Lufkin has to do better than that.

It was rough. Even lost a couple kids on varsity who are back now. The Freshmen A team only had about 25 kids before grades came out.  Then after the JV lost most of the roster they just took half the Freshmen A team and moved them up and combined the two Freshmen teams. So the JV started winning and then the Freshmen started to lose.

Titans should return 2 or 3 on offense and 5 or 6 on defense. That's not too far from normal, they normally return on avg 4 on O and 6 on D. 

 

Last time they had to replace a good number of starters was going into the 2022 season where they returned 3 on O and 5 on D, big thing going into that season was having a brand new backfield, several OL were sophs and only had 1 starting WR return, really similar to this upcoming season. I don't expect a duplication of that particular season (9-1 regular season with a 3rd round playoff run) or even last season due to the lack of experience returning as a whole offensively. New QB will probably be a sophomore. Having to replace a 4yr kicker/punter wont be fun either in sticky situations. I think defensively we'll be fine long as the injury bug doesn't hit. I expect to see alot of sophomores playing as well on both sides, another youth movement sorta speak. 

 

Lowered expectations for me, at worst 6-4, at best 8-2.

I'm going 7-3 for the regular season (2-0 in non-district) and sneak into the playoffs. 

 

Playoff teams without seeding attached: Port Arthur Memorial, La Porte, Lufkin and Beaumont United. 

 

I think Beaumont West Brook might be the most talented team in the district, but coaching will be their downfall. 

Exceeded my regular season expectations. Good job Titans. Now it's time to run it back and get some more gold balls. 

 

Also I believe we play Houston Milby 1st round, but don't quote me on it.

I got yall playing Houston Waltrip unless the standings I saw and game results between them and Milby are wrong. Milby beat Waltrip.
