Lost 2 to SFA, 1to McNeese, and 1 to A &MCC Correct. Attended all 3 games of the UTRGV sweep, so no idea why I stated 2 out of 3. Look at you being sweet with how you started your response to me. You ole' softie! Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted March 25 Author Report Posted March 25 Brayden Evans with a 2 run homer as Lamar walks off the midweek against Tarleton in the 10th. Host UIW in the weekend series starting at 7 on Friday. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted March 28 Author Report Posted March 28 Our Birds beat San Antonio's birds. 5-2 final. Long game despite the low score. Quite a few walks and a good numbe of runners left on by both squads. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted March 29 Author Report Posted March 29 Lamar falls in extras 5-3. Not enough offense on a low humidity night with a slight wind blowing out. LU only had 5 hits on the night. Olivier with another strong outing going 6 innings with 7 K's and giving up 2 earned runs. Rubber match at 1 tomorrow. Quote
spidersal Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 Yes you are not going to win many with only 5 hits and the last reliever in the game had a poor outing. Hopefully they will win series tomorrow Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted March 29 Author Report Posted March 29 Lamar with a 9-0 win today. Nice day at the ball park with clear skies and a light wind blowing in from center. Durbin and Sparks went deep and Tab Tracy had a multi-hit day. Three pitchers combined for the shut out and gave up a total of 4 hits. Overall good day and sit tied with Northwestern at 10-5 at the "midpoint" of conference play. At TCU on Tuesday and then host ranked Oregon State starting on Thursday. Quote
spidersal Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Lamar has struggled the past 3 games. Way too many errors, haven’t scored a run vs OS, and pitching staff is struggling, especially bullpen. They may be leading the nation in giving up walks Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM LU shutout for the 3rd time in 4 games. Only 3 hits as the offense continues to have struggles. SELA loses to Corpus. Thus, pending the outcome of SFA vs. UTRGV, LU will be in a 2 or 3 way tie for 2nd. HCU beats Northwestern. So, the top 3 teams all lose tonight. Hopefully some of the guys thst produced last season can make late season turn arounds. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted 19 hours ago Author Report Posted 19 hours ago LU drops the middle game against Nicholls 11-10 in extras. Now 1 game behind SFA and SELA for 2nd. Quote
spidersal Posted 18 hours ago Report Posted 18 hours ago Well I watched the game tonight and Lamar looked like a D2 team. The 3rd baseman cost them 4 runs by not catching a routine foul ball with 2 outs. The pitchers throw more balls than they do strikes. The hitters strike out way way too many times. They have not even played the 2 better teams in conference yet. I think we can safely say that it will be another year of no conference championship and we know how bad they play in the conference tournament They will be lucky to finish 500. How long are they going to keep Davis? Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago LU with a 10 run rule in 7. 11-1 victory. SFA falls and SELA wins. Thus, Lamar sits in 3rd tied with SFA (holds tiebreaker) and 1 game back of SELA. HCU has a big lead on Northwestern State ans if it hold they will have taken 2 of 3 from the Demons. This will bring them back to the pack a bit. Huge weekend coming up as the Birds host the Demons, SELA heads to UTRGV, and SFA will be hosting Nicholls. Can Lamar pull a top 2 seed or do we hope for a good destination for the first round of the conference tournament? Time will tell, sun will rise tomorrow, and my Uncle Spidey will have a complaint. spidersal Posted 51 minutes ago Report Posted 51 minutes ago Finally looked like a team today. If they continue to play like today they have a good chance. If they play like they did yesterday they have no chance Quote
