TXHORN_ET Posted November 13 Report Posted November 13 Oh there will be numerous coaches near and far to apply for this job. It’s gonna take a special person to come in and turn it around. Will the powers that be make the right choice this time or not. Quote

The right person’s season ended Friday night after an incredible playoff run. Without a shadow of a doubt, he is the right man for this job. It’s time to bring in a "hometown" guy who genuinely will care for and love the kids, and who will get those who quit back on the field Quote

And did he say what the next step is after Friday’s game? Quote

Who knows what they’ll do, but I’m sure he’ll stay where he’s at. Still, I’d be trying HARD to get him if they want to get the program back on the right track. Quote

Last 25 years have been VERY average at best. Quote

Hemphill graduate, former hornet coach that moved up the road a little way? Curious minds want to know. Quote

Whoever they hire isn’t walking in and winning a state or even a district championship right away. Right now, it’s about getting kids back on the field and rebuilding the program. They had the opportunity to bring Larry Upshaw back, but they passed on it. The program is so far down that it’s not about winning games at this point it’s about winning the kids. Quote
