Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted Saturday at 04:04 PM Report Posted Saturday at 04:04 PM Senior Night with a chance to finish off the regular season undefeated (1st undefeated season since 2020 9-0 regular season).... I expect this game to fly by in time, both teams love to run the ball. Titans have a Bye Week on Week-11 after this one. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted Saturday at 04:16 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 04:16 PM One thing I'd personally like to see on Halloween Night is the Titans cleanup the post-play penalties, we had entirely too many versus Lufkin. I know normally when we play any teams from Baytown it gets chippy.... Another thing is: let's get Milson the ball please! Kid has been busting his arse out there all season long, he deserves some more targets his way IMO 🤷🏾♂️ Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted Saturday at 05:27 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 05:27 PM Per the DCTF team page the Titans are a 56pt favorite currently...... Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted Saturday at 05:54 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:54 PM Memorial will never trail and it’ll be on cruise control in the second half. This team won’t be challenged until the second round. Key word challenged, not beaten… BigWillie2003 1 Quote

Darth Texas Posted Tuesday at 06:02 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 06:02 PM Port Arthur is emerging as a juggernaut. I just saw they’ve allowed only 24 points TOTAL in district. Has Memorial ever had a defense this good? (Not counting TJ or Lincoln years). Current projections have them set up to meet La Porte in the third round. I’d pick Port Arthur in that matchup, and I think La Porte is about as good as anyone in 5ad1. All of that to say, Baytown Sterling’s not winning this game. Quote

I would have liked to see us have to face a team in the early season that can stop the things we’re good at so we get experience with the emotions of executing well even when the results aren’t coming. And, I think the PNg defense could use reps against that speed — We’d have played well on defense, but it would have been humbling, and very, very good playoff prep. On the other hand, if i’m a port Arthur fan, I’d want the same thing, so I’d leave png off the table and try to play summer creek or north shore. Quote

All of that to say, Baytown Sterling’s not winning this game. I would compare this defense to the 2011 team that went 5 rds. that defense had 4 LB's(one is playing in the NFL today in Elanden Roberts) that made you pay, a defensive lineman that was disruptive and "the honey badger" in the secondary. if this defense had a secondary like 2011, they would be up there. I will say the kids can play only whose on the schedule, but THAT 2011 team had a tougher post season schedule and they played in 6a. the district had 2 really strong teams in LaPorte and North Shore and LaPorte was the only district L and was PAM's bugaboo. I'll take the W's this year, but PAM has been blessed to have a senior heavy team with the majority playing varsity 3-4 years. It also helps that Lufkin, Ball and BH lost alot to graduation. I think take this same team and run it back against those teams from last year, i see a 1st place tie or second in district. Quote
Austin1985 Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago While that 2011 is the best Memorial team as far as playoff success goes, they gave up 20 ppg over 15 games with no shutouts while this bunch is giving up 12 ppg with 3 shutouts and one outlier game against Spring Legacy. That 2011 team was chock full of players but gave up 44 to Channelview. This bunch has a chance to reset the standard because of the defense. Going to Lufkin and shutting them out for the 1st time since either '78 or '89 is something special. And from what I've been seeing in possible playoff matchups, I like PA's chances getting to the 4th round and dare I say, beyond........ Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote
