AggiesAreWe Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Offensively, Lumberton has definitely upped their game since district has started. Averaging over 200 yards rushing (both Williams and Cratic averaging over 100 yards per game in district play along with both scoring 8 TD's apiece). QB Mitchell has managed the game very well, passing for 410 yards and 4 TD's with just 1 INT in district play. But Lumberton's success offensively in district play has been their run game. Oline has definitely played a huge part in that success. Lumberton is averaging 39 points per game in district. Defensively, the Raiders have given up about 20 more yards per game (335) in district play. Grimmer, Burkhalter and Atterberry have combined for over 60 tackles in district play. The key for the Raider defense is to shut down the Hawk defense and force them into a passing game. That will allow Lumberton to bring pressure on a pass game that hasn't been too successful this season. HJ will definitely need to get their pass attack going. It's been their weakness all season, particularly in district play. Hawks are only averaging 71 yards passing in district play, 244 yards total offense. HJ OB Samoff has passed for 228 yards, completing just 40%, with 4 TD's and 2 INTs in district play. RB Pitre has rushed for 322 yards in district play. Hawks will need a bit more balance to have a chance against this Raider defense. Hawk defense is top 3 in district, giving up 320 yards per game in district. They are led by Malbrough who has 37 tackles, Levin with 34 tackles and Warren who leads the district with 4 INT's in district play. HJ has to slow down the Lumberton rush game and make Mitchell win the game. They cannot afford to let the Raider run attack control the game. Lumberton is on a 3 game win streak in district while Hardin-Jefferson has lost their last 3. HJ has to win this game to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss pretty much seals their fate as a playoff team. Lumberton with a win can stay in the DC conversation but will most likely clinch a playoff spot with a win. Looking forward to broadcasting this game. Quote

Not the same team they were early in district. According to the roster sent to me from Coach Bass, which includes who is starting tonight, the starting QB, both RB's, both WR, TE are playing tonight. Unless there is an Olineman or two missing, all the skill guys are playing. On defense, the Hawk leaders in Malbrough, Levin, Warren among others are all playing. Not sure who they are actually missing, but the main cogs from all season are playing tonight. Quote
