Mariners Lose tied for now

Astros with a sweep of the Rangers. Win 5-2.

With the Seattle loss, Houston is 1/2 game up and 5 games up on Texas.

Javier with a solid 6 innings to get the win. King with a 4 out save.

I think we need to go 4-2 in the last 6 at least.  Rough weekend ahead.

7-2 would be a good finish

I said we had to go at minimum 4-2 this week and we already have 3 of those wins. I'll be good with a 2-1 series win this weekend.

Seattle wins today 2-0 over KC. Astros now tied for the lead.

Correct. To make room for him, Astros put Alvarez on the 10 day IL.

That IL move sets an all time MLB record for the most IL transactions in a season with 29. Breaks the record of 28 set by the 2019 Yankees.

29 IL's!!! If someone had told me Houston would have that many with several key players and pitchers within those IL's before the season, I would have predicted them to finish well behind in the divisional race and no way they make playoffs. But here we are tied for first with 9 games remaining.

If any team has an excuse to not make playoffs, it's the Astros.

Good job by manager and general manager and others.  Still hard to believe.  It's hard not to make bad decisions, but over all they have done pretty good moving players all around the organization llike they did.

He's definitely a "glass half empty" guy.

Astros are not just 1 game back of Seattle, but they are also just 1 game back of being the #2 overall seed in the AL.

Lot's can happen over these last 8 games and they all are not negative like someone would lead you to believe.

Lately they just came off of sweeping the Rangers.

Astros are 12-10 in their last 22 games.

Woo was a pretty good pitcher last night and so was Hunter.  So I guess there was an offset somewhere.  It fell apart more when Bullpen took over and kinda went downhill from there..  They will come back I'm sure.

When Correa leads off with a double and he doesn’t advance at least one base, that’s pretty disheartening. I can live with the “4” but the “0” has to go. I don’t think we had a man get to 3rd last night. Astros will win the next two and be up a game……from the eternal optimist. I don’t throw in the towel until I am mathematically eliminated.

Pretty dismal right now 7th inning 5-0 and leaving fokjs on base.  Need a miracle and some heros.

Well had heroes but no miracle.  6-4 loss.  Score was better than the game was.

2 back hard hill to climb now but still time.

Incredible running catch by Robles in rightfield then doubling up Meyers to end the game.

Houston will now need outside help to win the West and will need to finish at least no worse than 4-3 in final 7 games to make playoffs.

Got to get a win tomorrow.

SEA clinches tiebreaker over HOU

CLE shut out MIN in both games of their DH HOU now tied w/ CLE at 84-71, but CLE has tiebreaker

HOU is 4th in 3-team WC race

It can be done but chances are slimming down.  They have had these late slumps before and somehow bounced back.  Leaving folks in scoring position doesn't help.

BTW close is only good in horseshoes and hand grenades.

I would not call 12-11 very good. Appears that they are choking the pooch. They better win those last 2 series or they will be sitting at the house
