So much for coming out of this series 8 up.  Lose 7-6 in 11 innings. Mariners just hungrerer right now.  That's baseball. Now only 3 up.

Another bad outing for McCullers. 2.2 innings, 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 BB

He has the worst ERA (6.90), worst WHIP (1.74) and worst walks per 9 innings pitched (30 in 44.1 innings pitched) of all the Astro starters. 11 total starts and only 44 innings pitched.

Currently, his salary is what is keeping him in the big leagues.

Even with McCullers terrible showing, the Astros should have won this game. Bad news bears defense and a passed ball lost it.

You guys and myself don't like negatives but this is one I don't understand why it can't be fixed.  You can send hime to the minors, but you still have to pay him.  He's probably a great kid but hey this is baseball.  So they need to do something now before it's too late.

Also there are a couple more players that are almost useless.

The Houston Astros are bringing up IF/OF Shay Whitcomb and 1B Jon Singleton from Triple-A Sugar Land to join the team today in Seattle.

11-3 Ort win with Hunter not pitching well.  We needed that salvage. back to 4 up.

Great hitting last half of game.

OK now get a win meaningful win streak,  It can be done.

6-3 win over Arizona.  Brice Matthews 2 dingers and was the first astro since Jake Meyers in  2021 to hit his first 2 dingers in thw same game. 

Hader 26 saves.  Back to 5 up Brewers beat Mariners 6-1

Astros have placed Lance McCullers on 15 day IL with a right finger blister. Houston has recalled up RHP Nick Hernandez from Triple A Sugarland. McCullers was scheduled to start tomorrow's game at Arizona.

This makes 17 players on the IL for Houston. Most in MLB.

Didn't expect that but hope it works out.

Stros were going for Brandon Lowe from Rays but he was place on IL for Rays and will miss trade deadline.

Valdez wins a close one 3-1.  Mathews anonther dinger and finishes game with double play.

Valdez now 11-4. Still 5 up as Mariners win 1-0.

Some really good defensive plays on both sides.

Astros take the series and go for the sweep today. I think they can do that. Unbelievable how many players are on IL. 

King sure made that interesting. Needed to get a strikeout in order to get out of the bases loaded jam, then a double play to seal it. He was blessed with both. There are other ways to accomplish the feat, but this one seems most plausible. Matthews has been a phenom at the plate in this series. I have to admit though, until that game ending DP, I hadn’t been real pleased with his play @ 2nd base.

Two players we don’t need are McCormick and McCullers…..the two Mcs. Sorry for the negative post, but I’ve felt this way for a while.

Walter great pitching game leading 3-1 Sousa comes in gives up 2 in the 8th for tie and we go ahead 4-3 in 9th Hader save number 27

Mariners lose 10-2 we 6 up again.  Cariritini hits in 11 straight games.

Small ball kills an average infield. Caratini jumped 12 feet high for the first time in his life, saving an extra base hit. Lol
