I’m pretty sure you’re wrong. I think he’s scrambling to put the genie back in the bottle.

I'm not totally on board with that thought.  But, what's ironic, is when Tragichippy stated the opinion that this may be a Trump ploy, I have run across this thought a few times on the internet.  Knowing Trump it's not inconceivable that he would do this.  But I do know with 100% certitude that you and I don't know.  Only Trump knows!  But, knowing how Dems do everything opposite of Trump, in rabid style, and Trump knows it, I could possibly see this ploy could have happened!

I would expect nothing less.

Agree about the loss of trust in both parties but if you even lean a little conservative the choice between the two is a no brainer, imo.

And I don’t agree that the Republicans have an anti immigrant problem, they’re simply anti illegal immigration.

I don’t vote for a Party. Never have. I’ve never knowingly voted straight ticket. Typically, my votes are between Independents, Libertarians, & Republicans. Democrats—as I’ve stated multiple times—are polar opposites of my view of limited government. Have I voted for Democrats in the past? Sure. I’ve seen very few conservatives or anyone besides someone I knew was a Democrat running for School Board. They’ve typically been retired teachers or school employees that you knew they voted Democrat. But, they were the choices.

As far as Republicans and immigrants—yes—there’s an issue in my mind. With perception or implementation of policy at the least. That’s why—prior to the election—the vast majority of Republican voters surveyed said immigration needed to be curtailed. Not just illegal immigration. Immigration in general. That number is now around 30%. Seems when enforcement hit closer to home, views have slightly changed.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m in the camp of no illegal entries—period. Also, no benefits for people here illegally. I’m against birthright citizenship as it’s a draw for illegal entry, and abuse of the system. I also don’t believe it was the original intent of the authors. But, we’ll see on that one. I’m for immigration verification and enforcement for employment nationwide. I’m willing to pay a little more if necessary. I think as long as the U.S. is a welfare state, these are reasonable stances. I know they don’t all mesh with the Libertarian views of Cato, or even the open border policy of the Libertarian Party. But, that’s why I say I’m libertarian with a small ‘L’. I believe if you want open borders, you need to end the welfare state first.

Never voted straight ticket either but I can’t remember the last time I’ve voted democrat.

As far as the illegal immigration or simply immigration, I was referring to the actual position of the party, not views of a portion of the voter base.

I vote Republican because they are closest to my views but I haven’t been very happy with them for a while, not necessarily the policies, but the party members.

The only viable alternative is democrats, which isn’t even actually one.

We’re in the same boat for the most part. Although, some of the Republican backed policies haven’t made me happy either (Patriot Act anyone?). Not sure either major Party really believes in personal liberty any more. At least, they don’t seem to prioritize it.

But yeah, Democrats have never been an option for me either. Except for like the School Board example because of lack of choices.

Agree on the Patriot act, also wasn’t too happy when Bush increased the department of education drastically.

Both parties spend too much, always have, and always will…until they can’t.

I like this opinion piece.

Trump's FBI director, told right-wing media personality Glenn Beck on Dec. 13, 2023, that the head of the FBI under Biden had direct control of Epstein's "black book." "That's why you don't have the black book," Patel added. "And, to me, that's a thing I think President Trump should run on. On Day 1, roll out the 'black book.'"

This was well thought out but so many things have come to light.  Trump claims once again a witch hunt.  Now it’s time to deploy distraction.  Deny ,deny and play victim.  Blame Biden.    Trump is allegedly not on any list so release the black book.

According to Epstein's attorney, Patel was wrong. There's no list. No black book of John's. There were multiple accusers who provided testimony that jurors believed to convict Epstein and Maxwell. Many of those accusers have settled out of court with the Epstein estate to the tune of millions of dollars. Part of the settlement agreement may very well have been their silence. That would also mean their silence about the men involved. That's probably why we've never heard more about Prince Andrew.

Trump may very well have been more involved with Epstein than he would like to portray. I wouldn't doubt it one bit. Rich, connected people hang in the same small circles. But--again--according to Epstein's attorney, Trump wasn't directly involved in the pedophilia activities. Not even sure he knew exactly how bad it really was, although he knew the girls were young.

I'm not a major Trump fan. I look at policies vs. personalities. But, I think he used this to gin up his base, and it's backfired politically. That's a long way from me thinking he was involved in pedophilia.

Again, he can't release anything from the federal grand jury information, or the other court documents without approval from the various judges. Also, the settlement issues may throw a curve in some of this info being released.

I've said from the beginning, you're not going to get much.
