Gator in Hog Trap

Hey Does anyone have the pics of the 12' gator in a hog trap?   It was caught on Toledo bend. I do not know where it was at but I would guess it real, because there is a shot of a game warden at the back of the trap. I have it at work and I forgot to send them home. If you have it, please post it.

I would think that most gators don't wander that far away from the water to get into most hog traps.

I would hate to be walking through the woods in the dark heading toward my deer stand and come upon that.

I'll have to add that to the memory banks. Don't put hog traps next to the water.  

Fortunately, most people put them a bit farther inland.

If you are serious, no. Gators don't eat like that by consuming whole animals like snakes. Gators like to rip chunks of flesh of of their meal, preferably after it has been rotting for a couple of days and builds up quit a stench.

A lot of people bait hog traps with soured corn or something similar. That probably drew the gator to the trap.

I don't think that it was possible for the Gator to have been going after a hog in that kind of trap. It looks like that was the kind with a slide down trap door. Not a hinged door to allow multiple animals to enter the trap.

I think a hog would be too shrewd to be trapped by a gator anyway. They are harder than deer to hunt and are more cunning and wary.

That's why they are overrunning Texas. It is hard to spot the darn things and they move through the woods like a herd of elephants, destroying everything in their path.

  GEES PEOPLE YOU GOTTA LEARN WHEN I'M JOKING..........gators typically kill there prey then drag it under a log  and let it sit for a few days before consuming it. And yes your right usually by ripping it to shreads. 

  As far as the gator being there they got pushed inland by the strong currents in the main rivers. When it flooded they starting seeking shallow holes and eddies. To escape the flood waters. Typically the same occurence will concentrate the hogs on the high ground which is mr. gators favorite meal.  I've really noticed them on the edges of the bay flats where they typically stay away from because it is too shallow and salty. and in the backwater ponds of the marsh they are thick.  They seem to like the deeper channels when it isn't a ripping current and the sand banks all covered up.

Yeah but people that are not hunters or outdoorsmen don't have an infinite knowledge of animals and their feeding habits.

Does anybody have any idea "Where " on Toledo Bend the trap was? Texas side or La. side???? Kinda looks like a TP&W uniform. Curious mostly.  ???

considering that a game warden is in the picture i would guess TX side. LA side the pictures would never have been taken (no evidence) and the gator would have been eaten.
