Blacks Voting Democrat

As in he wasn’t in agreement with the expanding of civil rights being led by democrats at the time. He disliked it enough to join the republicans who soon became the conservative Republicans we know today.

There are all different types of conservatism. Some people are socially conservative on issues like abortion, etc.... those are now morally aligned away from the current Democrat platform. I know of a Pentecostal lady who ran for office for years as a democrat because that’s what you do to get elected where she lives. She’s the furthest possible thing from a modern democrat.

There are also fiscal conservatives like myself who live conservatively and think our governments should not be spending money we don’t have on things we don’t need.
you mentioned a while back that you felt like you were better able to manage your investments than with a 401k. Don’t you think that you can do a better job of spending your earnings than the government can? That makes you somewhat conservative, Amigo.

Racist CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRAT history. I care nothing about the democrat. I just don’t like deception so yes it feels better to know better. Maybe you, being a conservative, want to hide the fact that they were CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS so you can throw the blame on the democrats and not feel bad about your conservatism.

Ummmmm.... does that mean that we can differentiate between confederate supporters and slave owners?

If anybody that fought for the Confederacy is now scorned and viewed as a racist, then anybody that has ever voted for a democrat is also proudly supporting that history of bigotry.

You can’t have it both ways.

My intent wasn’t to separate but rather to include. The fact is those democrats were also conservative. You leave that out and your misleading the people

I know there are different types of conservatives because everybody’s different period. Except the ones that are programmed to think a certain way. But the fact is the conservatives of the 1800s were mostly democrats and the modern day conservatives are mostly republicans. I consider myself a conservative liberal btw.

Liberalism is holding liberal views. Liberal views having to do with liberty.

socialism and communism are similar but different. Communism is socialism to a more extreme extent.

btw you never answered my question

I never understand the analogy between liberalism and liberty, because it seems to me that liberalism is more threatening to my liberties, lol.
I’m kinda more inclined to describe today’s liberals as “progressive.”
Somebody once described the two movements as those who want things to stay more the same (conservative) and those who want to see things change (progressive). That’s probably the best analogy that I’ve seen so far. It doesn’t really even matter about the issues-just change and our reaction to it.  It’s important to note that not all changes are actually “progress.”
When your talking about issues like slavery and civil rights, being conservative is not where you’d want to find yourself. But when “progress” means socialism and over-reaching government control, I don’t think liberal/progressive is where you’d want to be either.

Or at least that’s how I see it.

That's how I see it as well, it's not a clear cut way to define political ideology.

Conservatism to me in the traditional since means less gov intrusion into my life, lower taxes, less regulation, stick close to the laws of the Constitution, etc.

I guess on the other hand, since the law of the land is that abortion is legal,  one could twist that to say a conservative view is to keep things the same and keep it legal.

There would be no liberty without progression

I don’t know how he could be so hated and still manage to be elected. But anyway which democrats weren’t conservative?

Trump pulled it off, as far as which democrats were and were not conservative in the 1800s, I couldn't tell you...lol.

I guess you’ll just ignore my question again

The fact that the democrats you speak of and want to place all the blame on for racism were CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS  is not semantics. It’s a very important fact and can be misleading if you leave that out. Doesn’t matter what type of conservatives, just know they weren’t liberals or progressives. As far as what happened with CT that was just politicians  being politicians.

Nope, that was the same Racist Democrats from the civil rights era being Racist Democrats in 1991 and Today! Own it. Ironically Joe Biden was in charge of that Judiciary Committee that grilled Clarence Thomas! Remember you ain’t Black unless you vote for Joe Biden! 😂

Joe Biden is telling the blacks that they need to stay on the Democrat Plantation, your not allowed to think for yourself!

What in the world does this have to do with conservative Democrats? This is just a modern day politician slipping up on his salesmanship. Has nothing to do with slavery or Jim Crow.

Name some of these conservative democrats and why you consider them conservative.

By the way, I don't feel bad about my conservatism, it's liberalism that is ruining this country.

I asked you the same question you asked me vice versa. If it was pointless when I asked it then it was pointlesss when you asked it too. Difference is I answered your question but when it’s time for you to answer the same question vice versa it becomes pointless lol
