They need someone who can snap the ball correctly and someone to not botch the correct snap & get the ball down, also work on that blocking.

Don't think actual kicking is the problem as far as kickoffs, not sure why they were having him pooch kick last night.

Their tackling on kickoffs and punts need work too.

WB need to do tackling drills! The all around tackling is bad!

Longview might have something to say about that.

watch out for Katy Tompkins.  Lost to Katy by 5.  Same qb and running back.  And they had a hoss of a defensive lineman last year not sure if he graduated.

if it wasn’t for Elia s elusiveness wb losses that game

But it's not just extra points and FG's. Kickoffs are bad, giving up field position and punting is terrible.

A school with that size enrollment shouldn't have that bad a kicking game.

Silsbee (and other schools I have seen this season) has an enrollment 3 times less than West Brook but their special teams is much much better than the Bruins.

That’s on coaching. WB has at least 40 kids in their soccer program that can punt and kick a dadgum football. But I think the shortcoming is snapping, blocking and the actual hold not being emphasized

Tompkins is going D1. They are the 3rd largest school in their district. Seven Lakes is the largest and they are winless this year if I’m not Mistaken

Spot on. The missed PATs,  and FGs, have almost exclusively been due to high snaps.

Not that I don’t think it could happen. But I would believe DP would be favorite in this game.
bu has the athletes to win but too many inconsistencies by player s as well as coaches.

again just my opinion.

I know what you're saying, but LaPorte did beat DP..  and United just beat LaPorte..  so I dont know if you'd say DP are strong favorites...

WB might be going D1 if BU beat DP!   Wow

The scenarios are endless at this point with North Shore and West Brook being the only two teams with playoff spots on lock and Sterling being the only team eliminated.  And in reality, the only team in the district that will be eliminated this week if they lose their game is Channelview because they have North Shore the following week.

Yes, I will definitely be pulling for West Brook and LaPorte this week.  If they get the wins, all we have to do next week is win on Senior Night...

But the Bruin fans will be pulling for Channelview this week and Deer Park next week so that they can go D2.

School                                                    Record

1)Galena Park North Shore                    7-0

2) Beaumont West Brook                           6-1

*Deer Park                                                  3-4

3) Sheldon C.E. King                                    4-3

*Channelview                                             3-4

*Beaumont United                                     3-4

LaPorte                                                      2-5

Baytown Sterling                                      0-7

How does a win againt DP automatticaly put BU in if it's a 3 way tie for 4th? Will they flip or go by pts?

*This is assuming Channelview beats Laporte and BU beats DP.

    • We'll see. I don't trust us.
    • Starting pitching has been shaky the last few weeks due to some injuries outside of Hagen Smith.  He goes tomorrow, so y’all should be fine
    • Manchin may get it but any mention of the radical left that wanted to get rid of the filibuster and end almost 220 years of history because the Democrats are mad?  The House and Senate are obviously different legislative bodies with entirely different election processes and rules for a reason. The House can vote on laws with a simple majority vote. The Senate put rules in place that it would make it much tougher to pass laws. Laws should be difficult to pass. The Senate is often the holdup of the right and left. It takes 60 votes to break the filibuster so any law will almost certainly require agreement at least in part, from opposing sides of an issue. Because they can’t get laws passed, the radical left is like a baby having a tantrum and wants to change over 200 years of history and make it potentially ridiculously easy to pass laws. I have seen current poll maps and it is possible for the Republicans to sweep into complete power in November but by the tiniest margin. That would possibly mean that a single vote margin in both houses could enact what you might call the radical right laws. There would be nothing that the Democrats could do to stop any legislation whatsoever if the left (they are all radical, minus Manchin) got their filibuster rule changed.  That is where the current filibuster comes into play as any new law would require several Democrats to agree with the majority Republicans and vice versa.  Do you want the potential for your radical right to have free rein as the radical left wants by killing the filibuster or is the radical left just as (if not more) dangerous? Let’s see if we have a history in this area? Oh yeah, the Democrats changed the rules in the Senate to allow federal judges to not have to overcome the filibuster. Obama was not getting his federal judge nominations passed and being angry, they changed the rules instead of nominating more moderate justices. They were warned that it would come back to bite them. They didn’t care and chose the nuclear option to change the rules. Oops! Any guess how Trump got all of his Supreme Court nominees passed against strong Democrat opposition? The Democrats got rid of the filibuster for federal judges after another tantrum   So when you are so worried about the radical right, are you equally concerned in what the radical left is always doing by changing rules and history which were put into place just for situations like we are in? So while Manchin gets it, what about his other 50 colleagues (49 + Harris)?  What concerns you more, Abbott and Paxton or the Democrats who want to make it to where if the Republicans do take over, they can go wild… at least in your mind?
    • MODS please remove that ISD twitter link! I had no idea it would copy the whole posting. I only highlighted the portion about the venue change. Sorry about that!
