The Leggett Pirates look to punch their ticket to the Class 1A State Championship game on Thursday morning as they take on the Lipan Indians in this state semifinal matchup!

 

Dennis Stewart's Pirates, 32-5 on the season and champions of District 29-1A, traveled this road to the tournament:

Bi-District: BYE

Area: Rocksprings, 55-31

Regional Quarterfinal: Moulton, 63-60

Regional Semifinal: Laneville, 67-60

Region IV Final: Waelder, 37-27

 

Meanwhile, the Indians, 36-1 on the season and champions of District 18-1A, traveled this road to the tournament:

Bi-District: BYE

Area: Zephyr, 95-41

Regional Quarterfinal: Iredell, 88-36

Regional Semifinal: Satillo, 69-22

Region III Final: Graford, 51-29

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Gail Borden County/Nazareth semifinal, which will be played immediately following this game, on Saturday at 8:30 am for the Class 1A State Championship!

I hope they do well.  But looking at Lipan's schedule they've played well enough to be a top-5 3A squad.
