Tobie- sounds like you like what Trump has to say and what his son had to say regarding David Duke- and yet you have spent many months bashing him- what gives?

Many of the politicians did the same thing Steve, including Trump himself and Obama. So why can't I. I have nothing to gain or lose. Many of the politicians do. Most folks that put in for a job promotion are not doing it for the company. Only for their well being. Politicians look out for themselves,  the majority of them.

Do you realize that no president can take away guns. Congress has to vote, not all dems in congress would vote for that. Probably less than half.

The number of Congressmen that want to take away our guns is continually growing...on the Democrat side. If the Democrats ever gain full control of Congress, you can bet gun control will be one of their highest agendas. Do you realize that many have already publically stated that?

What if Hillary had won and appointed a liberal supreme court justice and the vote went 5-4 that the second amendment was unconstitutional. What happens then?

That was very close to happening. I am just flabbergasted about how many Democrats constantly say their party is not trying to take away guns when their leaders basically come out and state it.

Sure provided you with a great living. California has chemical plants. So does Louisiana, but you chose to stay in Texas. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Why stay somewhere you don't like? I LOVE TEXAS. Best state in the union.

Enjoy the free spirited dope smokers.

I don't smoke anything

for the last time, a president cannot take away guns kids

For the last time, why are Liberals trying to make it impossible for an American to own guns? You are in so much denial it is comical. Hillary has stated on many occasions that she wants to hold gun manufacturers accountable in gun violence cases. Explain the rationale behind this statement and then maybe it will open your eyes to what is clear and obvious to most of us.

I'm not a gambling man, but I am willing to bet that you will refuse to answer the questions then keep spouting your "nobody wants to take your guns" mantra.

Ever had any kool aid?

not a follower. don't think trump will be with the pubs either. He will listen to his family before he listens to the hateful rhetoric of the republican party. Trump was once a dem, said that it would be easier to run as a pub. he once complimented both clintons and invited them to his wedding. Trump is a New Yorker, don't ever forget that. His son once said the presidency is a downgrade in lifestyle for his dad. trump would prefer living in his palace in manhattan. Doubt he would ever vacation to Texas.

    • The greatest point on all of this, and exactly what makes it a great day in SE Texas is the commercials are over!!!!  Phelan wasn’t all bad, Covey wasn’t all bad, but by the end of it I would have voted for Brewster’s “None of the above!”  Politicians serve their own interests and everyone’s politician is bad (except for theirs of course).  I personally am for: 1) Higher fuel prices, 2) More taxes and restrictions on private property owners, 3) Cancelling student-loan and even credit card debt, 4) Covid restrictions (bring back masks) 5) Giving more tax money away to countries at war (except Israel), 6) Tearing apart the nuclear family 7) Supporting college kids to protest anything and everything they want with no consequences, 😎 Higher and higher food prices 😎  Go Biden/Harris - just MASA (Make America Soft Again), Beto for a high-cabinet spot.
    • Thanks for the info, I didn't check the primary vote count.  I was posing that, based on anecdotal evidence, many who did not vote in the primary showed up for the runoff, and apparently voted for Phelan.  My next door neighbors were two that voted runoff only and voted for Covey, so it went both ways I guess.   The Houston Chronicle posted quotes from Covey accusing many Dems of voting in the runoff.  Obviously if they were able to vote in the runoff then they didn't vote in the primary, unless the voted in the Rep primary to begin with of course. .  "Covey’s campaign released a lengthy statement after the results came in, calling Phelan an “Austin swamp creature and King of the Democrats.” The campaign accused Phelan of courting Democrat voters in Jefferson County to bolster his early vote numbers, but Covey did not say he would seek a recount." Anyway, it looks like it's a done deal, until November.
    • WooHoo, the RANGERS win today 6-1 and win the series with arizona. 1st series win in the last 6. Maybe things are starting to change!!!
    • That is what I thought but I figured you folks would be able to find it for sure. Was a little tougher back then with fewer teams in the playoffs.
    • Bingo! I didn’t like the move, if Lamar would have stayed from the get go they could have benefited like McNeese did and be able to host confrence tournaments in Beaumont possibly… but I did hear LU is playing a big factor in bringing these schools back… which hope SLC rewards them in some way.
