Nederland vs. Dayton

Honestly I don't  think Dayton is worried about that loss to Channelview, I'm sure they  knew it would be a challenge. That is the reason they schedule Channelview,  I didn't say that Channelviews  defense sucked I said that someone from Channelview said they suck. I for one that Channelviews d was big  and fast.

A loss is a loss, and we will take that, but next week is a different  story and Dayton will be ready for Channelviews best.

My main point with that statement is will Dayton come into this week mad after losing by that much , plus it is a home game for them.  Ned kept it close for three quarters but lost in the 4th to Crosby.  No moral victories, just stating what happened!

Thats what I thought. Which is probably why Crosby wants Dayton to lose. So they don't look so bad by Nederland keeping it close with them.

Who have you seen from Crosby that WANTS Dayton to lose? You may be seeing some predict that after Dayton was blown out and Ned played tough. Crosby had 169 yards of offense on Ned in the first quarter, even though they hung tough most of the night most Crosby fans felt they could blow it open any minute. There are a lot of things that could've happened but what actually happened is that Crosby came up 1 point and about 60 yards shy of doubling Ned point and yardage wise.

Dayton has relied heavily on the big play the last couple of years, with a new qb and the loss of your top rusher and three top receivers I think it was only logical for some Crosby fans to think Dayton would struggle, especially early on.

I think it's a mistake to look back at last year's squad and say they beat Ned by 19 after losing the same way to Channelview. Last year's squad had a lot more proven firepower than the one that put up a little over half those totals Friday night.

Ned is a little better than they were at this point last year and Dayton isn't as good at this point. Still think Dayton wins by a score at home though.

Nederland by 3 TDs. Better HC, better QB (if Shaq not the starter) and the barking is better

Can't see Nederland going to Dayton and winning by this margin.  Young team, still too early in the season, with maturity will come consistency, but not sure yet.  I think Nederland wins, but by 3 scores on the road is a bit much IMO.

Man, if that happens the overwhelming optimism will turn to, "We need the right guy for the job" talk. Even thought they gave up about 500 yards I saw where Mann was praising Neumann's defensive game plan that was put together for  Crosby. I think Ned's defense will cause some issues this week too.

Dayton has to find some more playmakers that can take the bubble screen and slant to the house like Keener and McBride could. I think getting to play against Crosby's screen game in the opener will be a huge help for Ned this week. Mitchell got baptized and Hancock couldn't finish, I would say Ned has a slight advantage there also no matter who plays qb for Dayton. I just think Dayton finds a way to manufacture some points and get the close W.

Does anybody know if Hancock is even playing this week?

Have no idea. There are a few starters with injuries. So who knows how this will go. We will see. Would love to see them bring up the jv QB if Hancock isn't playing ((But I'm not the coach. I'm sure they have a plan)).. Not sure what his name is. I forget.
