Buna brings an element of physicality to opponents who do not see that style of play very often. That alone portends well for Buna, especially against a new opponent.

The pass defense is definitely going to have to step up. The main thing is the physical run game and time consuming drives. Limit Rockdale's possession's, get a few stops on defense and Buna takes this one. The recipe for beating the spred was proven in the Malakoff game. Buna's opening drive consumed almost 8 min. of the 1st qtr. and resulted in a TD. Mix in enough passes to keep the defense honest and Buna gets it done

Anybody listen to this weeks sideline to sideline? I was a little ticked that they pretty much credited Buna's win last week to Malakoff just being weaker than they expect. No recognition for the cougars...

Malakoff was a very good spread team with a beast in the backfield #8 Dowell, definately the most impressive RB we have seen this year. Buna's playing very good confident football right know, getting better each week. I'm sure they'll come up with an excuse for Rockdale after Friday night :)

Thats what I'm thinking. Malakoff was a good football team. Buna is just better

Those guys have a handful of teams they follow in the state and bs their way through everything else. They look at box scores and try to sound educated on the other games but no clue in my opinion. I think The weekly Setx show could do the same thing these guys are doing honestly but then I think our show would lose some integrity honestly.

      And just for the record, there's a difference between running from competition and moving to another district because the one you are currently in has shown an unwillingness to build a championship program. Figured I'd clarify that before it came up.

      I will never understand the mindset of a parent who thinks teaching their kid to run from competition is what is "best for the kid". Stay and fight it out, if you lose the position, find somewhere else to contribute and help the team. This soft azz mindset is what is wrong with the younger generation and it's not even the kids fault. I am old enough to remember when football was a game that taught life concepts and grew boys into men. Now, it's just like every other sport and treated like a meal ticket for parents, regardless of what the underlying consequences of those decisions may be. Everyone looks for quick returns on investment instead of working to prepare these kids for the tough breaks in life. Makes me sad.

      I pulled into the bank drive-through to cash a check yesterday. Couldn’t figure out why they were closed. About an hour later I realized it was because of Juneteenth. Kind of ticked me off. I just wanted to cash a check. Hope that doesn’t make me racist.🤔
