TROJANSWIN Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Ok so if they go undefeated in pre district then there shouldn't be no comments on why we scheduled a weak non district schedule hmm ok If you play a weaker schedule and go undefeated, everyone says its because of the weak schedule. If you play a tougher schedule and lose a game it's because you weren't that good or you're overrated. You get a couple starters hurt in a tough schedule and it could ruin the season. Shepherd's schedule got weaker because of Cleveland's disappointing start. Otherwise, Cleveland and Huffman are good games for predistrict. Splendora game should help to build confidence. There is nothing wrong with winning predistrict games. Quote
mmccary Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Splendora was worse than Garrison to me...if SA would have had Roberts...it would have been a different outcome! Quote
mmccary Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 The "best team we have had in the past 6 years"? You barely beat a school with a 185 kids that was missing their best player at QB. If Roberts played you would have lost easily as the entire offense centers on him. Your skill positions are weak as is the entire team. You will be run off the field by Huffman and you coach will be requesting that the clock run in the 2nd quarter. 1-9 is a very distinct possibility for the "best team we have had in 6 years". I have seen a lot better running backs better than A&M prospect that just get overlooked...but if he was on a team where his line actually blocked for him he would look a lot better. He seems like he lacks vision but give him space then he could kill you! Quote
beentheredonethat3 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Report Posted September 12, 2014 I'm still lost as to how that is a weak pre district schedule? You want your team to line up against the best in the state before you start dist and risk, like Trojan said, injuring kids just so you can say you didn't have a weak pre district? Makes no sense to me bud. Pretty balanced imo Quote

idk Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Some people in Shepherd want a tougher pre-district schedule, only due to the fact that everything Shepherd does (in football) is centered around competing against Coldspring. Make no mistake about it, this is a rivalry that goes beyond just the score when they play each other (yes I know this is usually a one sided rivalry). So if Coldspring plays a tough pre-district then the folks in Shepherd think they should play just as tough a pre-district. What most do not realize is that Coldspring has been there and done that. Shepherd is trying to build to get there. Comparing apples to oranges. Most of the time Coldspring and Shepherd folks get on here and play nice but they both truly do not like each other. Kinda like the big brother competing against the little brother ( I will let you folks decide which is which lol). So Shepherd's pre-district is good for them this year ( you have to crawl before you can walk) After a couple of years and a ton more building then maybe you can schedule some of those really bigger schools. Like some have mentioned. If Shepherd has one or two key injuries then they will not be the same team. They need to build that depth at each position. Quote
Off Shore GURU Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Falcon always nice to talk to the SPECIAL people from each town. I didn't know Huffman was ready to be mentioned with the likes of Katy in Football. I will get my State tickets now Quote
