Should Fat People Be Taxed For Being Fat?

Recommended Posts

Rather than taking care of their body, they rather stuff their humongous behind with more whataburger.

These landwhales are not only hogging up the aisles at grocery stores in their fat people scooter, but us hardworking taxpayers will most likely be on the hook for their medical expenses when their body fails.

Should we subsidize their terrible life decisions or should fat people get taxed for being fat?

The majority of fat people are fat because they stuff their face with fast food and don't exercise. Ive been around many fat people and they all have the same piss poor habits.

Sure, there are some medical conditions that can cause some to be overweight.

As a social liberal, I have compassion for those who are fat because of medical conditions. I do not have compassion for fat people who are fat because they eat fast food three times a day.

Another example, I have compassion for kids who are born into single parent/poor families. I do not have compassion for those who screw around in school and become career criminals, thus significantly reducing their lifetime earning potential and blaming whitey for their issues.

ECO- Are all people who are overweight in that position because " they eat too much/often at Whataburger"? Are there medical conditions that can cause one to be overweight? As a social liberal, shouldn't you be more "compassionate" toward those who have weight issues?

Fair enough. I'm not sure how the implementation would work. Just an idea.

I am not a big fan of government attempting to regulate human behavior via the tax system. Who is going to establish the parameters for being fat? What if a person is within those parameters in September but exceeds them in October and then falls back into "compliance" in November

ECO- according to your Parameters of who you want to tax and their actions for necessitating the tax, they already are being taxed for being fat! Junk foods have sales tax added at the register where as staple foods are tax free. The more cheeseburgers and cookies they buy, the more they are taxed.
I would also argue that obese people save taxpayers money in the long run. My skinny grandmother is 88 years old and on Medicare and social security. My fat grandfather died at 72 so he was taken off of those programs at a much earlier age. Therefore, I think we should tax skinny, healthy people more because they will require way more help later in life after the fat ones die!

FAT PEOPLE ARE SOCIALISTS

THEY WANT HEALTHY PEOPLE TO PAY THEIR HEALTHCARE BILLS

You know, it's hard for me to take your "commitment" to "real discussion" as the actual reason behind your constant trolling when you've completely ignored legitimate responses to your posts and questions about your premise while making posts like those above.

It's hard for me to stay committed to real discussion when even my serious topics get derailed by teabaggers

I think you're being overly optimistic. I've tried serious topics in the past and some teabagger will chime in with "HURRRR DURRR YOUR MOTHER SHOULVE USED BIRTH CONTROL"

Why would I even continue to attempt to have a civil discussion with people like that? That's the definition of insanity.

I'd be ecstatic to hold a discussion in a moderated forum with more civilized people like yourself, TVC, hippy, bullets etc where the teabagger brigade (smitty, Stevenash, Lumraider, etc) can't post and derail the topic

I already told you how to end this. You won't stop perpetuating the cycle. You're every bit as much to blame here as they are.

If you have a set number of people you would like to debate, then do what I do and only respond to their posts. Instead, you're just egging it on with those sarcastic remarks.

I want you to go on your profile and click the link to all of your posts. Look at the last fifty or so, and then ask yourself who you're responding to in those posts. If you really only want to have a debate with the prescribed list you've given above, you sure aren't acting like it.

    • Brewster….lmao. Watch that every time it’s on.    Great post.
    • A few Board of Regents agree for sure. Some administrative changes were based in large part on those moves.  Sam Houston is the only one this remotely did any service and of course they moved on as well.
    • The greatest point on all of this, and exactly what makes it a great day in SE Texas is the commercials are over!!!!  Phelan wasn’t all bad, Covey wasn’t all bad, but by the end of it I would have voted for Brewster’s “None of the above!”  Politicians serve their own interests and everyone’s politician is bad (except for theirs of course).  I personally am for: 1) Higher fuel prices, 2) More taxes and restrictions on private property owners, 3) Cancelling student-loan and even credit card debt, 4) Covid restrictions (bring back masks) 5) Giving more tax money away to countries at war (except Israel), 6) Tearing apart the nuclear family 7) Supporting college kids to protest anything and everything they want with no consequences, 😎 Higher and higher food prices 😎  Go Biden/Harris - just MASA (Make America Soft Again), Beto for a high-cabinet spot.
    • Thanks for the info, I didn't check the primary vote count.  I was posing that, based on anecdotal evidence, many who did not vote in the primary showed up for the runoff, and apparently voted for Phelan.  My next door neighbors were two that voted runoff only and voted for Covey, so it went both ways I guess.   The Houston Chronicle posted quotes from Covey accusing many Dems of voting in the runoff.  Obviously if they were able to vote in the runoff then they didn't vote in the primary, unless the voted in the Rep primary to begin with of course. .  "Covey’s campaign released a lengthy statement after the results came in, calling Phelan an “Austin swamp creature and King of the Democrats.” The campaign accused Phelan of courting Democrat voters in Jefferson County to bolster his early vote numbers, but Covey did not say he would seek a recount." Anyway, it looks like it's a done deal, until November.
    • WooHoo, the RANGERS win today 6-1 and win the series with arizona. 1st series win in the last 6. Maybe things are starting to change!!!
