  1. I did not say it was a Buna kid either. All I said was if it was a buna kid they would be sorry. As for tearing into goatherder I did nothing of the sort. All i said was what was the "Boy" for. As for pulling on my chain, I can not stand to see someone talk then ask why are you getting upset. I'm not upset but why say go back to class before your teacher gets mad BOY and then act like nothing was said. If you dish it out you had better be able to take it. I wonder if everyone had to reveal thier true identity how many people would post anything on here. Again, this is all in fun but be a little more thicked skinned. The good news is there is still a baseball game tonight @ 7:30. Oh, the project graduation will be serving burgers at the game so be sure to get you one and I hope you get to see a great ball game.
  2. Who pulled your chain bobcat?? All goatherder stated was that people were not just making predictions but putting little smart remarks with the predictions! Everyone has the right to guess what they think the final score will be sure, but I looked back at goatherders predictions and in his defense they were just predictions with a little baseball talk in some, not "oh warren stinks" "their not as good as everyone says" things like that!! but as much as I love you defending this kid, just went a little far tearing into goatherder. and PS who said the kid was from Buna?
  3. I do not understand the "Boy" goatherder? Who were you speaking too? I know several of the coaches and players on the Buna team and I can guarantee if a Buna kid is typing anything like that he would be sorry. I have not seen, not saying it is not true, a post that said Buna will kii everyone they play. Most of the post are that Buna is not killing everyone or Buna defending a post about them. I agree with ex-cardinal 86, don't post a prediction and then come back and say don't talk till after the game. This board is for fun and people need to be reminded of that. I'm sure deep down everyone hopes every school does well except when said school plays the school that they support. If it is a kid posting smack from Buna he had better hope he does not get caught because I'll bet my paycheck(Not Much) that Coach T will have that kid wishing he had never done it. Good luck to all 24-2A and lets keep this district exciting as it has been all year. That being said GO BUNA!!!!!!!!!
  4. Hey why dont yall leave warrior sports alone...hes right its pretty much a coin toss in 2-A ball. Both warriors and buna have played good ball this year and they have both played lousey ball... but like warrior sports says dont talk no crap untill the games over.
  5. Yall can talk all you want about whoever you want but untill you see the pitcher HF has then you havent seen anything. We have a kid on JV who throws upper 80s with a 78 hook that would buckle mickey mantle's knees. . The only reason Hes not our ace on varsity is because he just transferred here from mexico. This phenom's name is Jessie "Sit-em-down" Savoy and hes the REAL DEAL!!!!!!!!!
  6. I hate it when reporters ask that question right after a loss. I know they have to, but I thought Roy Williams said it best when Bonnie Bernstein asked him after the NC game loss to Syarcuse if he was leaving to go to UNc. "Right now i gotta go talk to 13 guys that just lost the National Championship game. I don't give a s*@# about North Carolina right now." Best line in a post game interview I have ever heard!
  7. Wow, you tell no one to predict the score and talk trash, but 3 or 4 posts up you predicted a score. The second thing, I don't think I would be calling Kountze weak when they are tied with you in district and you haven't played them yet. 3rd, the difference in your comparison is Buna won both their games and Warren didn't.
  8. First of all this site will survive. There are too many SE Texans that love this site and think that it is ran with great professionalism. Secondly- your post are only going to get edited or deleted if you attack a specific person (on this board), school, or player. If yours were deleted then they probably deserved to be. Finally-If you don’t like it, leave it. Never in the history of man has everybody been happy about one particular thing. People always complain. For example I have a -200 for my karma, which I think is hilarious but I do not whine about it. I know that you like to get on here and verbally play with peoples minds; it is what you thrive on. I have read all of your post and I think they are hilarious. But if you feel this badly about a site that has finally gave the people of SETX a chance to all come together and talk about high school sports then please leave.
  9. Lets just wait to the game is played and then everyone can talk their trash..:-) We will go down there play Buna and see what happens but until the game is over I dont think its fair to predict an outcome...Being in 2A baseball is a coin toss on which team shows up on that particular day, who knows if the Warren team that lost 16-1 to EC shows up or the team that beat Central 7-4 ...or on the other hand the Buna team that beat EC 10-2 or barely beat a weak Kountze team 3-2....anything can happen!!
  10. Talk about this somewhere else. Stay on topic.
  11. Ya'll just give it a rest. Quit starting arguements for no reason. Nobody on here can change anything that has happened and only the coaches know who will get played where, and when. Lets enjoy it for what it is, a game. We all like to see our teams win. Let's talk about baseball...
  12. From NBC5 in Dallas NBC's Derek Castillo asked Gillispie after the game about rumors that he will be taking the Kentucky job Castillo: What is your reaction to reports that you are going to be the new head coach at Kentucky and how did that impact this team? Gillispie: I don't worry about that. I'm honest with my players. Castillo: Did you talk to your players after the game about your situation? Gillispie: Would you? Castillo: I don't know Gillispie: Goodness Gracious We asked freshman point guard Donald Sloan about the rumors after the game: Sloan: I already talked to coach about that [reports that he is leaving] and he's an honest person - he gave me a straight up answer. I like the answer he gave me. You know I'm not really worried about that. We'll be back.
  13. I wonder who would win between Aranda , Deaver, and Minick? Talk about no competition...Aranda has won almost every tournament with scores of 6-0,6-0...
  14. heard a rumor from someone fairly creidble related to a successul ex LU coach that they also want to talk to Barnes at UT
  15. "KT you did yo thang. Continue just as you are doing and you will receive great things. This is a great job against Nederland. This is also a great pick for player of the week. This kid scores in just about every game he plays and he deserves this award. Not every kid in binder of history can say they went 4 for 4 against a team as of Nederland. This is kid speaks for itself. Stolen bases and runs scored. This kid gets on base, he is a force to reckon with. Great job KT." by lakerfan I will not debate the kids.....cause to me that's a no brainer......cough,cough Murph, cough......... I will debate going 4 for 4 in a game vs 3HR in one game..........throw the players names out and lets talk about High school kids.........What is more likey to happen at least twice in a single season......going 4 for 4 at the plate or hitting 3hr's in one game............ And I know this is like talking to umpires......im not trying to change the call just voicing my point of view......lol I want Central to be excited about what they have accomplished thuse far (im sure im not alone) and yes KT should be rewarded for what he has done...........but it shouldn't be because Central has never done this or that so we should give this player this or that..........I think we should still be truthfull to the game of baseball!! {I think 16 KO's agains anybody rivals a complete game W vs Kingwood} Furthermore Nederland is no Kingwood I dont think that's debateable either!! again good luck to both the Jags and the Bruins this week (some good baseball being played in beaumont right now!!)
  16. Kahne: NASCAR appeals have no shot of success Asked Wednesday his take on NASCAR's appeals process, Kasey Kahne took the atypical approach of skipping the politics and stabbing straight to the core. "My take is you don't have a shot when you go in," he said, stone-faced, other than a slight grin at the corner of his mouth. He isn't kidding. Kahne felt Evernham Motorsports carried a solid argument into the March 5 appeals hearing for the unapproved aerodynamic devices found on his No. 9 Dodge during pre-qualifying inspection for the Daytona 500, which resulted in hefty sanctions by NASCAR. NASCAR penalized Kahne 50 driver points, docked team owner Ray Evernham 50 owner points, fined the team $50,000 and sent crew chief and team director Kenny Francis home for a month. That penalty was upheld at the appeal hearing. What was the reasoning given for upholding the penalties? "There was no answer [why]," Kahne said. "I did talk to a few people that were part of that [appeal], and they said you basically have a losing cause. If you're not going to take the best case in the world you're not going to win." Told of Kahne's comments, NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston defended the appeals process and the people running it. "The NASCAR commission is independent, and they operate with a three-person panel to hear all sides of the argument," Poston said. "They make the best judgment they can based on the evidence, and have in the past overturned NASCAR rulings." One such instance came two years ago, when the National Stock Car Commission overturned suspensions for Hendrick Motorsports crew chiefs Chad Knaus and Alan Gustafson. This was a significant decision, as NASCAR doesn't often get overruled. At the time, veteran motorsports crew chief-turned-FOX analyst Jeff Hammond wrote on foxsports.com: "Everybody always used to say that that board was going to do exactly what the competition director instructed them to do. But I applaud them for reviewing the evidence and making a good decision using common sense. "The commission is there for teams to dispute penalties. It's one that we think is very important for the team and industry to have," Poston added. "Look at list of commission members. These are inviduals that are well-respeted and known for their integrity." According to the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup rule book, the 32-person list includes the likes of former Cup star Buddy Baker, Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell, ESPN analyst Brad Daugherty, former Cup star Harry Gant, Talladega Superspeedway president Grant Lynch, former Cup Series owner Bud Moore, former NASCAR vice president of competition Les Richter and Lowe's Motor Speedway president Humpy Wheeler. Evernham told ESPN prior to the hearing that today's climate makes points entirely too precious, and that's all he sought to recoup in the appeal. Kahne backed that up Wednesday. "We took a great case," Kahne said. "Everything was right there. Ray was asking for points. He wasn't asking for everything. The money? He gave it away. He was just trying to get some of those points back and try to figure out why they took so much from us for such a little deal." From the outset of the season, NASCAR officials said the sanctioning body would continue to ratchet up penalties until teams got the message. No question, points penalties send the message. But in this instance, given precedence, Kahne said the penalty was entirely too harsh. "Points get your attention. That's a good thing," he said. "But when you look at what we did and what other teams did in the past, and you see that they got a $5,000 penalty and that's it, and we have a huge penalty and huge points and lost a crew chief for four weeks, you go, 'Wow over a piece of tape that NASCAR had us put over it, that flew off?' That's wrong." The penalties were upheld, and thus are part of the reason Kahne is on the brink of top-35 purgatory. "It comes down to [the penalty] -- it's not good, but it comes down to our performances, our finishes," he said. "It rubs me a lot rawer that we haven't had Kenny Francis for four weeks over something so stupid as the reason we don't have him."
  17. Well it seems like all the teams around here have a strong showing next year... All these young and talented players coming back ... Central, Nederland, Lumberton, & Kelly .... I know the WB is loosing a lot but they always seem to pull a good showing in the setx showcase.... Well cannot wait to get back into the punch of all this soccer talk. Who has the best and who is the best... Its always so much fun...
  18. Come on.. No doubt Murphy had a game to remember, but so did Thomas. I believe this Thomas is a Junior, if I remember right. To put up those numbers against a district foe that you have never beaten in district play is well worth recognizing, Thomas has my vote for Player of the Week hands down. Not taking anything away from Murphy at all. Both of them played at the top last week. Give credit where it is due. Talk about wanting the cake and the ice cream. :
  19. jasper has had some great football players. i miss those days in the 80's when the stangs and the dogs got together. you talk about 2 tough teams. those games were brutal, and the players in those games are legendary. jasper had Chris Hunt, and James Bevil. Wos had Kevin Smith, and Quinton Tezeno just to name a few.
  20. you have 280 post on here PP. Your 16-18 go talk to some girls. They cant be that bad in L town.
  21. Man, 3Amagic, and HFfaninstands will not let this thing die. I tell you what, you guys go pull him out of government class right now, go up to the football press box, and throw him off of it. That sounds like the only thing to do to quit the whining you two are doing. Or just get the UIL to reverse the score and let you guys be victorious. I have a feeling, if HF had not blown the big lead, this would be back page news. If you want to find out if there was any intent or malice, then you need to talk to the player himself. I don't think there was any, but I am not at liberty to say too much, because I was not there. Bashing him on this board does nothing to get answers as to what actually happened. I can see both sides of the argument. From BC's standpoint, Stringer was PROBABLY not thinking straight because he saw the runner running toward the plate, with no catcher, and his coach screaming at him. He lost his head. HF fans could see that Stringer was throwing at the player because he was mad, that the player was running for home. But until you talk to the player or coach, try to reserve judgement, and not have him drawn and quartered in the town square.
  22. Soccerfanatic, A center midfielders MAIN goal is to conrol the game and create scoring oppurtunites for his forwards,no matter if hes defensive or offensive center. as far as i could see Waldrup did none of this adn the way people talk aboput him he should have been able to do this at least a little on even an off night. dont get me wrong the the purpose of this post was to state the Brent Waldrup is OVERRATED not a bad player. As i saw Central was a very uneven team with good players and bad players. If Waldrup is what people say he is he would have been to run circles around that team. Dog bone, you are taking what i said out of context those are two diffrent posts. i was commenting on what i saw in that game and even as Fernando got frustrated with his team he still played better. P.S. Jlamar im sorry i didnt think to call that is my fault but instead of minute thirties could i do joeicides? you know those are my favorite.
  23. Why come on here and run your mouth to a bunch people who think they know everything about sports. Dayton won, Vidor lossed it's over. Who cares the reasons why. If Dayton wants to run their mouth, who cares they are probably a bunch of high school kids trying to act cool smack talking on the internet (by the way, it's pretty classless making fun of another school, so don't talk about Vidor being classless). And if you are adults, you should be ashamed for being obnoxious. And to the Vidor posters, don't even comment on what these clowns say, half of the stuff doesn't even deserve a response (maybe laughing at them). You people are clowns. And to those Dayton fans who aren't acting ignorant, good game and good luck the rest of the way.
  24. Bluffton to play baseball despite player deaths BLUFFTON, Ohio -- Bluffton University will play baseball this season despite the deaths of five players who were killed when the team bus toppled off an overpass. "It's important they get back on the field and do what they love," athletic director Phill Talavinia said Tuesday. School president James Harder said the players met daily the last week to talk about whether to play. More than anything, he said, they were concerned about the feelings of the families who lost sons. No one objected. "Those who lost their lives in this tragic accident were passionate about playing baseball," Harder said. The team, unanimous in its decision to play, will wear black uniforms to honor the five: Scott Harmon, Tyler Williams, Cody Holp, David Betts and Zach Arend. The Beavers had their first practice Monday inside a gym where a week ago they attended a memorial service for those killed. Their first game is March 30 against Mount St. Joseph of Cincinnati. About two dozen players gathered for the announcement, but none spoke. They took turns inside a batting cage erected on a stage in the gym. "It was a good feeling to go into the gym and hearing the crack of the bat," Talavinia said. "It was nice doing those normal things." The team will be without coach James Grandey for at least the beginning of the season. He is recovering from breaking all the bones in his face and injuring his right leg. As many as six players could miss all or part of the season with injuries. Tim Berta, a student coach, is in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. Several sporting goods companies, including Nike and Wilson Sporting Goods, donated equipment to replace what was destroyed in the crash. The Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians and Florida Marlins also shipped balls, bats and gloves to the university. The team's bus plunged off an overpass in Atlanta on March 2 while on a trip to Florida. Four players died at the scene and a fifth died a week later. The driver and his wife also died. Investigators have said the driver apparently mistook an exit ramp for a highway lane. He continued without stopping at an intersection at the top of the ramp and then went over the edge. 25. just cause anthony brooks throws 200 times a game doesnt mean hes some great qb. if u throw that many times your bound to complete some passes. its doesnt take a jr. to understand probability. hand it off up the middle for 250 yards a game and then we'll talk.
