1. BH by a lot (haven't seen BH play), I watched LR play GCM zero week and not very impressive. I think as long as BH qb stays healthy they compete for the playoffs but if he goes down it might be different.
 2. Didn't make out to the game last night, are we still in contention for the ugliest uniforms in SETX or did we upgrade?
 3.

Nuevo Leon Tigres @Ant Mound may not be your norm Marquee match.Heck the Lee/Sterling gm.the same night & close by may not have many fans @ all 8) ;D
It will be the biggest team we see this year....... ;)  Considering they are 23 yrs old, some of them.
Are we making excuses already?
I second Butchie Santos
Butchie has over 400 8th grade basketball wins and who know how many football wins, countless district championships, and lives that he has touched.  At this years middle school track meet, i was told that his teams combined for over 1 million points during in his carreer... a freaking million...top that fellas.
"To be the man, you got to beat the man." ......and that's not going to happen.
 5. How is BH doing this year in basketball? Prior to last year they seemed to be in the playoffs what seemed like every year and winning a playoff game. I know you can't tell how things will turn out but this was a good group in Jr high. Good luck.
 6. Anyone have any Tatum updates? Two former BH coaches on staff there, happy for them. Hope they make it to to the "Jerry's World/The Death Star" next week and win it!!
 7. If it hasn't changed each school gets one vote, usually the head coach votes but i'm sure he gets input from his assistants prior to the voting. Also gets help on who to nominate. You're not supposed to be able to vote on your own nomination (usually your kid) but I have seen it happen. Supposed to be a honor system with the voting. But I also have seen a coach nominate a kid from another team when it's that obvious on who needs to win the award. As for honorable mention, it's usually a player a coach nominated but didn't get enough votes to make 1st or 2nd team. So basically anybody who was nominated, again each district has their own voting system.

 9.
2006...  Beaumont Central.  Very athletic team featuring athletes Brandon Williams, Derrick Hall, and a 1,000 yard back that made the playoffs as a lower seed (3rd seesed team) vs. 2006 Barbers Hill.  Sporting a pretty undefeated record and district champs. result. An 'L' for the Hill. This year? 2011 Ozen team.  Most Athletic team  in the district featuring David Green, Jakobi Jones, Nelson, and Michael.  Lower seeded team, barely made the playoffs. vs. The Ant Mound undefeated record, District champs. (do you see the common denominator?)  Well, the same arrogant BH fans have emerged once again.  And again, most of 20-4a fans (including fans of the 20-4a Kings) tried to give a fair warning. Hmmmm.  Well, let the Barbers Hill fans tell you wrong, just like in 2006.
No not the same, Central is starting thump thump and BH is still playing football.
 10. Sounds like we could have beat Elkins, Angleton and IKE! The Hill Is For Real!!!
 11.
I thought he was just an assistant principal.  So, he was also coaching while Price was there?  Interesting!

I hear Bruce Taylor is an assistant coach At BH.  Is this true?
***News flash-breaking news**** Yeah for the last 10 years.

Yeah been both his whole time at BH, they (Price/Taylor) coached together at previous schools too prior to BH.

 13.
Hmmmm ..... Dayton posters haven't spoke a word about this, but Chron.Com did (although, some of us have known for the last month or so) ..... [Hidden Content]
So what's new news that's in the article? Coach Stewart retired last spring from HC duties but believe he's still there as the AD....Are you talking about something else? If you think Dayton gonna have a drop off cause Coach Stewart is no longer the head coach, I don't see that happening. His assistants took over, so I expect the same Dayton.
 14.
[IMG][Hidden Content]] Glad to see we're are going back to tradition (BH decal). But the helmet looks weird (huge), hopefully it's just the angle of the picture. Decal looks off center.
 15. Little off subject with the post above, don't y'all think. Some people have no class.....
 16. Has anyone gotten their copy this year from a store? If so, where? Please post. Rumor is BHFan made the cover, ha ha. Smoking baby is upset, so he switched to left handed cigarettes to cope.
 17. Found this online, Huntsville newspaper. [Hidden Content]. Sad to hear, I met him while he was coaching at Cleveland. Other coaches I worked with knew his brother pretty well (current head coach at Northwestern St.)

 19. Anyone have the score from Friday night?
 20.
A better way to do this may be doing by decades. Talk to Jabo or Coach Horn and I'm sure they can fill you from players of the late 60's if not earlier, 70's to present. But some of the good ones I remember watching growing up are Troy Hanson (late 80's) and Jeff Jones (early 90's). I played with Phillip Davis - good football player but one of the better athletes ever to come thru BH - played it all - football, basketball and ran track (even played a year of baseball - I'm sure Coach Staulbaum and Johnson remembers that). Holds the school record with running a 47 qtr at the state meet. Believe he medaled in three events that year. But with that being said there was some good talent in the early years of BH. There's a guy in the Hall of Honor who's in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, can't think of his name on the top of my head. Also when coaching there in the 2000's we had some good ones that played there: Blake, Carrington, Shows, Patton's and Little. I know I left some off sorry about that....
I forgot about one more from the late 90's, actually ran into him today at the gym - Chris Methner - want to talk about a workhorse, this guy defines it. Tough as nails - type of player you wish you had every year.
 21. When I was in school we played against White and Bua when they were in the same backfield, they were good. We were tied at half 21, then they came out after half-time and blew us away.

 23. Yeah all that national ranking not sure who comes up with that or who ranks them, seriously doubt there able to watch all those teams play and make a good decision. I don't buy that much into also for the fact they have private schools in that ranking where they can go out and recruit. I believe it's what teams and coaches have done in the past. For instance I believe Trinity was back to back state champs and the head coach had won a couple of state championships at Commerce (for sure one maybe more than 2) before. So who knows? For Pearland they are good and have good size, (OL was massive, some of those guys were 6'5, 6'6 range) went to the Katy and Pearland game this year and either team could have won that day. Pearland made plays when they had too. Congrats to Pearland.
