1. I will go with PNG.  However, consider this: if Livingston wins, it would totally change what the district landscape.  I don't think if either team wins in the LCM-Lumberton matchup or in the Ozen-Central matchup, that anyone's predictions for district will change all that much.

Right now, the majority of people probably have Livingston in the 5-6 spot.  They probably also have PNG at number 1.  But if Livingston wins, then you are looking at a team that is 4-0, and really didn't have any trouble in nondistict.  Then you have PNG, who through Week 4 would only have one win...

That being said, PNG 27 Livingston 17

quote]You don't have to go back too far in this thread to see several predictions of LCM beating Lumberton by 21-27 points.... LCM hasn't beat anyone they played all year by that much and Lumberton is definitely better than any team they have played thus far.
Excuse me, Last week we beat Caney Creek by 24!!!!
Oh come on...Im actually a Bear fan and even I wouldnt think about comparing Caney Creek to Lumberton...Really??? :o
They're not comparing Caney Creek to Lumberton or anyone else.  They're just correcting Raider42's comments that LCM has beaten anybody by a large amount.  I also don't think that this game will be incredibly high scoring.  Lumberton is a ball-control team, and has a very tough, hard playing defense.

I picked Lumberton in this matchup based solely off of how my Silsbee Tigers performed against these two teams.

In the "game type" scrimmage against LCM, Silsbee marched up and down the field on the Bears, scoring on every 1st team possesion, 3 TD's to be exact in only about 2 quarters of play. LCM only manages a safety against Silsbee coming from a bad snap from the center.

Lumberton beat my Tigers last week, 21-14, but was up at one time 21-0. Silsbee played much better in the 2nd half but Lumberton was the better team.

Lumberton beats LCM.

:o This from the guy who says you can't win scrimmages.  That was the laziest preformance I have ever seen from a Bears varsity team, albeit it was a scrimmage.  They will come to play against Lumberton.  Defense will be much more ready to play than in the first half of Caney Creek (250 first half yards allowed, 80 second half).  It will probably be one of the best played games in Bear Stadium this millenium by both teams

i got this game being won with a turnover late in the game, both teams tied after 4 quarters 42-42 going into OT and bam a fumble by lcm and lumberton kicking a  fieldgoal to win 45-42 lol  this should be a barn burner!!!

Off topic but in 09 Kerrville Tivy went 0-6 out the gate vs.5a teams at first then go on undefeated all the way to the state semi-final loss to Brenham.
Actually, Tivy's record from last year looks like this according to Maxpreps:

Roosevelt (San Antonio, TX)  21-38 (L)
@ Wagner (San Antonio, TX)  20-35 (L)
@ Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX) * 28-13 (W)
Seguin (Seguin, TX) * 31-14 (W)
@ San Marcos (San Marcos, TX) * 32-44 (L)
Canyon (New Braunfels, TX) * 38-16 (W)
@ Steele (Cibolo, TX) * 38-34 (W)
@ Alamo Heights (San Antonio, TX) * 16-41 (L)
Clemens (Schertz, TX) * 56-35 (W)

Ya, that's as of right now, but 3 out of those 4 havn't exactly played the most difficult schedule.
Well Livingston has played two really weak teams; and I think LCM and Lumberton have both played subpar competition (although Nacogodoches and Silsbee are pretty decent).  But you're right, PNG has played a really tough nondistrict

Let me put my 2 cents in. For both teams, the key to winning for either team is going to be who has the best offensive line and who can put the most pressure on the QB.
Just thought I would put that in there. You gotta be able to block to give your QB enough time to throw the ball around and on the other foot you have to be able to put enough pressure on the QB from Depfense. Knock the QB down a few times and he starts to think when he sets up to throw.... do I hear footsteps ?

THis will be a great game. My Nephew plays at LCM on the Freshman team. My wife is a LCM grad. She got to PNG as fast as she could though ! lol.

Good luck to both teams ! and remember NO INJURIES !

LCM is pretty good at putting pressure on the qb...

Lumberton wins this by clock control and defense wich is something LCM has not heard of this season.
Of course LCM can't control the clock...they score every couple plays!

WOW!!!! LCM by 27.... No Way!  This will be a good game.. they played each other in 7 on 7 several times this summer and it was close every time.  LCM squeeked by Goose Creek and we beat them in scrimage the week before they played.  If you are worried about stopping the run then you are in for a long night.  Raiders by 7.
LCM outscored Goose Creek by the same margin as Lumberton, and anyone who saw the game wouldn't characterize it as "squeaking by."  Also, LCM and Lumberton played in 7-on-7 twice, and LCM won once 28-6 (not that 7 on 7 matters).  That being said, it should be a really good game.  Lumberton should have an advantage running the ball, but LCM has been making a huge number of big plays this year

lol lol that statement SHOCKS me. randy had it made over in west orange and he love the mustangs, but the color green came into the picture and its called$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ,not the school colors
Do you even know Coach Crouch?  Because anyone who knows him would never imply that he went from one place to another for the money.  Maybe he just wanted to coach a quarter mile from his house, at the school where he kids went (at least until high school) and he wanted to be the head coach again...
10. I would personally drive to any of the following towns and buy their newspapers if they had these headlines -

Little Cypress - "Not really sure what the score was, we lost track halfway through the third."
Nederland - "Mommas, don't let your babies grow up to be quarterbacks"
West Orange - "Hooks continues to complain about refs, which is really wierd, because the Mustangs had a bye week"
Beaumont - "Central scored last night!"
Vidor - "Next year, we're going back to playing private schools in pre-district"
Barber's Hill - " :'("

I'll go with LCM, Caney Creek isn't very good.
I wouldn't be too quick to give this to LCM.  Nacogodoches wasn't exactly world-class, and LCM only won by 10.  And Goose Creek was even worse, and LCM only won by 10.  Besides, Caney Creek is a running team, and stopping the run isn't LCM's strong point
