  1. I don't know if that saved there hosting chances or not. Playing there way into the Big XII Championship game might. If they host, logic pairs them with the Rice Regional, which should make things very interesting if both get out of the first weekend.
  2. Home/Visitor is rotated during tournament play, so each team is given an equal chance to be home/visitor. Same is done during NCAA Regional play. During Super Regionals however it is treated like a best of 3-series with the host school acting as home team for each game. BTW - Cards rally for 3 and hit into an inning ending DP and now trail 4-3. Veeeeeeery close play. Bottom of 6th SHSU batting.
  3. Bracket really gets interesting when the losers bracket team beats the winners bracket team. Take care of business tonight Cards.
  4. Ags capitalize on a UT error and small ball in a run in the bottom of the first without a hit. 1-0 A&M....bottom 2.
  5. Looooooooooooooooong season now complete for McNeese. Lets hope they can clear up whats going on over there and regroup for next season.
  6. SFA off to a HOT start scoring 7 runs on 9 hits to lead McNeese 7-0 heading to the bottom of the first.
  7. I thought I heard on ESPN that if they could get Durant, then they would let Lewis walk. Not sure if thats a good idea or not? :-\
  8. Great way to start. They only had to use Harrington so the staff is in good shape too. Now to take care of business against a scrappy SHSU squad.
  9. Thursday Games Central Florida 1 Houston 0 (Houston Eliminated) Tulane 13 UAB 5 (UAB Eliminated) Rice 7 Memphis 5 S. Miss @ ECU - 6:30pm
  10. Can't you tell with all my posts today...I'm working. ;D UTSA still leads 2-0 in the 4th.
  11. Trent Lockwood hits HR #14 in bottom of first...UTSA 2 SFA 0 after 1.
  12. Memphis 12 Houston 4 Rice 16 Central Florida 6 (8 innings) Southern Miss 9 UAB 5 East Carolina 4 Tulane 2
  13. Video broadcast of the SLC Tournament is available to subscribers at www.cstv.com. Should make work go by faster the next couple of days.
  14. The slide was not bad, they are drawing attention to the forearm he "threw" when he popped up. You know slow motion, etc., can make things look worse than they actually are. Red Sox/Yanks just makes it bigger. I would expect a reaction from Schilling tonight anyway, he loves to stir the pot.
  15. Did anyone else see A-Rod's hard slide into second with the forearm afterward to try and break up the double play? Thoughts, etc. Will there be retaliation tonight?
  16. That Fort Worth Regional is a new projection. TCU hasn't been mentioned as a host site until this week. I really don't see that happening, but given the Ags demise as of late I wouldn't rule anything out. The PV/Rice possibility scare the bejesus out of me. PV pushed the Owls to the limit last year and almost stole one in Houston this year. They are a dangerous club. Hopefully they will be shipped somewhere else.
  17. I know that RPI does make a difference, and if ULL can quarantee a minimum bid, then they have a good chance to host. Baseball has not become as lucrative as the real money producers YET. Coastal Carolina will host, as will San Diego, and Long Beach, instead of the larger venues like Clemson, etc. I do agree though if LSU has a decent club this year, "The Box" is hosting over Tigue Moore Field in Lafayette.
  18. I agree totally. The only quality wins they have OOC are Rice x2. It seems that a lot of projections have ULL taking the regional that the Aggies seemed to have "wrapped up" a couple of weeks ago. While the Ags are dangerous, there resume is suspect. Outside of Rice they padded their schedule with weaker opponents. But hey if they can play a weak schedule and win 40 games and luck into a regional then so be it. I personally hope the NCAA sends it to Lafayette, but its hard to argue with the revenue from 7700 fans at Olsen.
  19. I wouldn't expect to see the SLC rep go to Houston unless it was McNeese or SFA. As a 2 national seed Rice would host the 2nd weakest 4 seed in the tournament. UT would be the 3rd or 4th national seed and would similarly host the 3rd or 4th worst 4 seed. Traveling to Lafayette would make a lot of since, or a trip to College Station would probably be in the cards. Sometimes though geography place a huge role . I would like to see the SLC rep in Houston since I'll be there anyway. McNeese put quite a scare into the Owls back in 2003 and its always fun to watch teams you can relate to. I personally love the current NCAA format and it makes for two great weekend of college baseball.
