  1. Silsbee wins!! Unfortunately we (HF) average 9.2 pts a game with a 2-3 record. Silsbee averages 30.6 a game with a 4-1 record. HF has a junior QB who will be playing in his 3rd varsity game and a soph. RB. A few other sophs. starting on off. and def. A couple of other sophs went down to jv to get some seasoning. They may be back up by the end of the season if we keep losing games. Why can't we play Jasper this week?
  2. WOS Our team (HF) has been beat by both. If we could have scored in the second half we would have beat EC. WOS beat us when we looked at the schedule!! WOS could probably beat any of the 4A teams in this area! Change that they def. would beat any 4A team in this area!! I am a fan of their programs constant ability to reload year after year!!
  3. To HF fans Couldn't make the game tonight and channel 6 had the worst highlights of the game. Give me feedback on how we looked. What did we do right and what did we do wrong.
  4. HF Frosh beat HJ Frosh 28-20. Exciting game! Decided in the last minute! HF JV beat HJ JV 20-8. HF O and D played well!
  5. 6. If HF can get over two tough losses in their last games we can win this game. We'll have to overcome losing our starting QB for at least one or a few games. He struggled at times but he was the best we had. If the new QB gets comfortable he is probably a better thrower. So hopefully we can get balanced early and keep HJ off balance. Then if needed we'll be able to complete passes at the end of the game. Tackle the Burrell kid and we'll match up in the secondary on D. This game can go either way. Will be real tight until the end! In my unbiased option  I predict: Another 21-20 loss by HJ!!
  7. After watching WOS demolish HF Kirbyville will have to be one of the fastest and best tackling defenses in the state to beat WOS. WOS is fast and talented at all the skill positions. They line up 4 rec. a lot of the time and the QB can read defenses. He gets the ball to the open rec. most of the time. When they catch the ball its a whole lot of yards after the catch. The RB and QB are the real deal. We looked like we were standing still when they had the ball. They got 7-10 yds almost every touch run or pass. I'm not sure about the D because we were horrible on offense. I'll give them some credit because we couldn't run which was kinda our only strength. We hardly threw the ball and when we did the balls were late or overthrown. Our QB was on JV last week so that explains his issues. We couldn't run the ball either. We were outmanned at every position except punter and I don't think they punted! How does one team reload every year!! I haven't seen Kirbyville play but I've seen WOS for the last few years so I'll be nice- WOS 40 Kirbyville 21
  8. HF lost their QB on their first offensive play. He was earholed running the ball. The helmet came flying off. I didn't realize he was hurt until the officials called a timeout and he was being held up by a lineman. He was lifeflighted to the hospital. He has at the least a concussion maybe more. Hopefully he'll be okay! HFs backup just moved up from JV this week. His timing was off even though we only threw the ball 6 or 7 times. I think our coaches were trying to run the clock down by running the ball to get the game over. It seemed that everytime WOS had the ball they scored!! They got 7 or more yards every play. HF made very few plays on either side of the ball. Talent and speed wins out again!
  9. I was wondering about this same topic a little while ago. HF played WOS JV tonight and supposedly a few WOS varsity players that had failed were put on JV for the night. The WOS players dominated and help beat our JV badly. I was told they played mostly in the first half but the QB would hit the outside and was uncatchable! I wasn't there but the person who told me has no reason to lie. He was not participating but was a HF varsity player supporting the JV. Its probably legal to do but that doesn't make it right. If they were already on the JV that would be a different story. HF may have lost the game without their assistance. HF JV would probably not feel like they were cheated. No one will every know if HF JV could have won the game!
  10. I know this post was put up to try to dog HFANINTHESTANDS and not the team. I've been at the but end of a post by HFANINTHESTANDS myself (and we're on the same side) but I let it go because he amuses me. So to get serious here is my biased opinion. And as we all know most of the posts on this site are biased! If HF gets above average QB play, balance on offense, cuts down on turnovers, and keeps the games close we could win up to 6 games. Prior to the season I had penciled in three wins. That was assuming a loss to Liberty since they were hyped up a bit. But we won. I assumed our only wins would be at Splendora, EC and Orangefield. Against EC if we had got a few first downs in the second half and tackled their QB on those long runs we would have won! I won't go crazy and say 9 wins even though the only team that is probably hands down great is WOS. The other teams have been up and down in predistrict action. Everyone knows there will be upsets every week. There will be a local team that will go on one of those one in a lifetime playoff runs. Why can't it be HF? It remains to be seen but there is a lot of season left. We have 7 district games to play! We have the ability to win most of them no matter what the pundits say!
  11. HAMSHIRE-FANNETT BEATS WEST-ORANGE STARK!!! - reads the front page of the Saturday edition of the Beaumont Enterprise. State wide people are shocked that the lowly Hamshire-Fannett team beat the mighty WOS Mustangs. The game is the lead story on every local newscast. WOS drops out of the top 10 by losing to a team not in the top 200 3A schools. WOS state championship run is over! Wouldn't that be awesome? It would definately be the biggest shocker on Friday. Our game is assumed to be a blowout by everyone. Keep hope alive HF fans!! Any given Friday!!

  13. We'll keep it close for a quarter. Too many hosses for now. We'll be better in two years. WOS by 3 TD's.
  14. WOS first. They will do the usual and go undefeated in district. The rest of the teams are up in the air. HF is at least two years from being playoff ready. Especially in this new district. HF can only hope there is better redistricting the next time.
  15. Can they win without there QB? Can Franks run a balanced offense for them? I think they will struggle in the playoffs if the starter is not in. In our district they can win every game running the ball because of their speed and quickness. Every game I've seen them play they have had more big plays than the other team that sways the game their way!

  17. HF needs to work on balancing the offense out earlier in the game. A spread type offense works better with some consistent threat of the pass. HF ran most of the game and then needed to throw at the end of the game to try to win. Even the most experienced QB would struggle to win the game without having thrown but a few times in the first three quarters. Also decrease the turnovers. To win any district games we will have to have both of these items.
  18. I don't know if it is I'm just talking out loud. I didn't look at the numbers. This predistrict stuff is horrible right now for some of the teams. There are a lot of coaches second guessing themselves in ref. to their teams.
  19. If you notice my location you'll realize I am being a homer on the HF pick! WOS is the only guarantee in this district everything else is up in the air. If you look at the play in the predistrict schedules most of the teams are questionable. Some have played weak 4a teams and lost. Some have played strong 2a teams and lost. The 3rd place team may get in with a under 500 record!
  20. I said more of. I was trying to talk about our team more so than yours. 0 first downs in a half. There was definitely some problems on O. EC beat us fair and square. If we had been consistent we would have beat you guys. 12 of your points came from long runs.
  21. 1.WOS 2.Bridge City 3.Hamshire-Fannett HF should have beat EC. We just need to get balanced on O and get the ball to our homerun hitters more often to allow them to make plays. The D needs to make sure they tackle the other teams homerun hitters everytime. We will surprise everyone if we put all facets together every Friday. We can beat every team left on our schedule if we take care of business. That includes WOS!!
