I haven't seen any of these guys play. Is their ranking just based on athletic ability because the Haynes kids stats last season weren't that impressive compared to Beasley or Thomas. I'll be at Regionals tomorrow watching my sons team Clear Creek run in 5A. I plan to watch 3A so I'll get a chance to see how fast they are.

I saw that HF will be playing Tarkington in the playoffs. When and where will they be playing? I want to come out and support my sons former team mates.

How did HF do at Anahuac?

I am pulling for HF. But very importantly who is going to be their QB next season? The QB position has been the main problem with the program over the years I have supported them. Below average QB=3 to 4 wins usually non-district to start the season and HJ or Orangefield. They might beat EC with out Tramaine.

Down here south of Houston I will be at District Stadium in League City watching our Clear Creek Wildcats beat the Galveston Tors in an attempt to keep them out of the playoffs. We will solidify our playoff spot by a big win over the Tors. #2 Jordan Wright, formally a HF Longhorn, will be bringing it tonight by pass, run, catch, and returns. He should have a big day. We are still supporting the Horns. GO HF!!!

Down here in Galveston County Clear Creek (League City) will play Hightower in two weeks.

The biggest thing is for parents to get their sons checked out by a doctor when they complain of arm pain. When my son was in Pony league there were a few instances where I overheard kids complaining of arm pain and I made it a point to tell their dad about it. I wasn't a coach just a concerned parent. In both cases the parent(coach) still had the kid continue to pitch. I should have told the moms instead of the dads! When my kid had an arm problem I took him to the doctor and the doctor shut him down for half the season because it was a growth plate problem. I told my son that you can't make the pros out of pony league so heal up and then you can get back to playing. I would have made him sit out the entire season if the doctor had told us so. He wasn't a pitcher at the time just an outfielder who had to adjust to a bigger field. We all need to remember that at the end of the day the most important thing is taking care of our sons not winning baseball games!

The Rice Festival is not a distraction to the HF kids. It happens every year and the game is not affected by it. Most go at night time anyway. The little kids go during the day.

HF wins 10-7. I hope the Cheek guys will come back to HF because HF needs more athletes to compete with the top teams in 21-3A. In the past when they have been in the playoffs it had a lot to do with the great RB's that came from that area.

Our Clear Creek Wildcats will help Lee continue its losing ways. Former HF Longhorn #2-J. Wright will be a playmaker all night.

Thanks WB for your help but the rushing yards don't add up Burrell is shown to have 247 by himself, Daigle 64, Bell 65, Scully 73. That is why I asked for someone who was at the game. Burrells fumble rec was probably on defense and got added into rushing numbers incorrectly. Its been awhile since HF has had a game near 300 yds so I would def. like to know if they did or not.

If HF had got any first downs last year in the second half they would have won this game. Defense cannot allow Thomas any big plays he had two long TD runs last year. Play consistant offense and defense and they will win big 31-14 !!

Can someone who went to the game tell me why HF has more rushing yards than total yards. Did HF lose that many yards on other plays? Thanks! Keep it up HF we are still pulling for you guys!

Who is the starting QB this year at HF? Courville or Clark? If the passing game improves with fewer ints and some passing tds HF will win at least 5 games this season. Their success starts and ends with the signal caller.

No, we moved to League City-Clear Creek ISD my son will be playing for Clear Creek High.

In my statement I was joking thats why there was a smiley face behind it. I wanted the coaches to stay because they allowed my son to play some QB last year. Also if you read all the post I said I don't live there any more.

I usually go to practice when fall practice starts because I've missed football. I can get a good idea of how the season will go by watching the QB play. I've have been right the last few years because the QBs were inconsistent in practice and it showed during the games. I don't usually go anymore until the next season. I once talked to one of my sons coach after the season was over to ask him if he thought my son had the ability to play a different position. He answered my question and allowed my son to play the position when he was sent down to JV from Varsity last season to work on the position. I never spoke to our head coach unless he spoke to me. He never asked me my opinion on football. Maybe he would still be working in this area maybe not! A parents only job is to make sure our kid does good in school and is respectful to the coaches and teachers!

Excellent post WOS92!! I concur. I started this post but we have moved out of the district so I have a new school to cheer for. I hope the Horns do well this upcoming season. It will be an uphill battle for them to make the playoffs. They played a lot of sophmores last season who should be vastly improved as juniors. Hook 'em Horns!

A kid on the Angels from HF's mom takes a lot of pics of him and maybe his HF teammates. Thats the only lady I've seen taking a lot of pics.
